Y/N's Pov

"Hey Eda, what did you need to tell me about?" I ask.

Eda is standing over a table, pieces of paper all over the room.

"Uhm, Eda?  Are you okay?" I question.

Eda turns around, a big grin on her face.  "Hey kid!  You're just the person I wanted to see!" her grin gets wider.

"I heard from someone, that the Golden Gaurd is coming here." she states.

"And?" I raise an eyebrow.  "We can take him hostage and use him to get our own back on the emperor!" Eda shouts out gleefully.

"Uh, nice idea.  But how are we going to do it?" I ask.

"Easy peasy!" Eda snorts.

A wave of sudden realisation flashes over my mind.  "But Belos will kill us!" I shout.  "Belos is weak and, out of town." Eda smirks.

"Hmm.....", I ponder, "Oh well, it's not like there's going to be anything more interesting this summer."

"This idea is shit, Eda." I whisper to her.

"Oh shut it, Y/N, when this works, we'll be able to get lots of juicy information on Belos." Eda whispers smugly.

  "Jeez okay!" I shoot back.

Eda puts a hand on my mouth. I'm about to shriek at her until I spot the reason why.

Sauntering down the forest path, is the Golden Gaurd.  He's whistling a merry tune, with both his hands clasped behind his back, his staff wedged in-between.

Eda scoffs and rolls her eyes at him.

The Golden Gaurd picks up on the noise and twists his head towards us.

I pull Eda down from her proud perch on the mossy rock.

Eda flashes my an angry look and then regains her calm.

She motions for me to look at her hand and then she begins a countdown.

 Three.......Two.......One.

On mark, Eda jumps up from behind the rock and begins to throw stones at him.

As Eda is distracting him, I run up from behind the Golden Gaurd and lift my wooden staff (free of my palismen, of course) to hit him across the head.

He has more reflexes than I thought and he catches my wooden staff in his hand.

Ripping it out of my grip, he tosses it far away.  I begin to run in the direction where my staff landed.

The Golden Gaurd doesn't seem to want this to be part of his plan and he grips me hard around the neck, almost choking me.

Eda throws more rocks and does a little distraction dance and shrieks, like a feral cat.

The Golden Gaurd, however seems a little more worried about me for this time being.

 It's time for  evasive manoeuvres.

I kick him hard where I shouldn't and he let's go of me, while bending down to groan in pain.

Running as fast as I can, I find the crash site of my staff.  I grip it tight and run back to Eda and the Golden Gaurd.

He seems to have recovered from his injuries relatively quickly.

As he runs towards me, I step to the side and lean near to his face.

Bringing my elbow forward, I smash it hard into his mask.

The shoddy gold metal bends inward, the pressure being to much for it.

Eda, haven taken notice of his almost contained state, rushes forward and throws a net at him.

Blinded by inwardly bent mask, the Golden Gaurd struggles to keep us away.

I bring my staff swinging forward, to the back of his head.  He struggles to continue to stand and tries to sluggishly attack Eda, then he gives a little groan and drops to the floor.

Eda moves quickly, tightly tying his hands behind his back.

She tosses me his staff and I catch it, with disdain.

Eda throws the Golden Gaurd over her shoulder and grins at me, " See kid, I told you we could do it!"

"Ugh, whatever." I groan.  The walk back to the Owl House is dark and filled with freezing winds but at least, we have our prize.

《Hopefully, this was a long enough chapter.  I tried to put as much as I could into the fight scene.  I do hope you enjoyed this chapter and I promise there will be more fight scenes in the future.》
