Chapter 22 《Separate Tides》

Luz's Pov

Y/N's body lay still, their lips blue.  

Tears dripped down my cheeks, falling onto Y/N's face.

  I look down to their stomach, scarlet blood staining their jumper. 

 I hugged them close, their blood pouring out onto my knees.

  I pull their body up onto Eda's staff, struggling with their weight.  

"I can help you." The Golden Gaurd whispers from behind me.

  "No!" I snap, rage filling my tone.  

I shove him away and watch as he tumbles into the snow. 

 Flying high into the air, I shout back down to him "Go back to your coven, Golden Gaurd!"  

He stops in his tracks and looks up at us.  

I fly back to The Owl House and land.

  King curls around Y/N, fear in his eyes.  

I carry Y/N inside, Hooty beside us every step I make.

  I hear Lilith and Eda land outside, their footsteps getting louder as they near us.  

Eda rushes in and scoops Y/N up in her arms.  

Eda and Lilith begin to cry aswell, leaving my eyes at lot less dry.

  Eda pulls bandages from the kitchen table and begins to cover up Y/N's wound. 

 Once finished, Eda pulls a crow phone out of her hair and procedes to ring Raine.

  She motions for Lilith to bring Y/N upstairs, not wanting to interrupt the discussion, she and Raine are having. 

 Lilith picks Y/N up and procedes to head to their bedroom.

  I follow close behind, not wanting to lose track of them. 

 Lilith opens the bedroom door and lays Y/N on their bed, pulling the covers up to their chest.  

I hear a whooshing noise outside and I rush downstairs to meet, who I'm assuming is Raine.

  As I rush outside to greet them, a very different sight reaches my eyes.

  It's Edric and Emira.  

Emira looks at me, awkwardly shuffling her feet. 

 "I wanted to apologize to Y/N, if they're here?"  

I let them in, Edric looking around The Owl House.  "So, where are they?" Edric asks, his eyes fixated on the kitchen of The Owl House.  

"They're upstairs, in bed." I answer, my voice shaking with sadness.  

I breath and compose myself, as Edric and Emira look on in worry. 

 "Why is Y/N in bed?  Are they tired?" Emira asks, confusion in her tone.

  "You don't know, do you?" my voice shakes. 

 Edric and Emira both shake their heads, worry in their eyes.  

I bring them upstairs and to Y/N's room.

  Lilith is sitting on a chair, watching over them. 

 Emira brings her hands up to her mouth, stifling a sob. 

 Tears pour out of her eyes and Edric stands there, his face pale.  

Emira rushes towards Y/N, falling to her knees. 

 She grabs Y/N's hand and holds it close.  "I'm sorry, I'm sorry....." she mumbles over and over, tears pouring down her cheeks.

  I hear whooshing outside again and I look out a window, spotting Raine.  

They hurry inside and I can hear rushed chatter between Eda and them.

  Footsteps begin to near us and I turn towards the door. 

 Raine hustles in and steps between Emira and Y/N.  

They pull down the blanket and take off the bandages.

  Pulling something from their satchel, Raine smears something on Y/N's wound.

  They begin to shiver as the ointment sinks into their wound.

  Gasping, Y/N sits up.  

I shout out in joy and rush towards them. 

 Eda runs up the stairs and we all hug Y/N.  

Tears pour down my face and I look at Y/N.  

They look back as their eyes fill with tears. 

 A weak smile fills their face, as they hug all of us back.

  We all cry and sob as Raine stands up and begins to leave.  

Eda turns around and faces them. 

 She waves them over and Raine sits back down.

  I close my eyes and hug Y/N harder. 

 I'm so glad to have them back.  

2 days later...

Y/N's Pov

My wound still hurts but atleast I'm allowed to move around the house.

  I find myself wandering outside to where Eda is packing up the cart.  

Lilith sits infront as Luz and King sit at the back. 

 I sit with Luz and King, lying back on all our bounties.

  We ride into town and Eda takes out a sack of the bounties and places it infront of the seller. 

 He weighs it and gives Eda a single snail. 

 I already know the argument that is going to ensue, so I climb up the statue of Belos.  

I watch as Lilith gets annoyed about something and a poster gets itself stuck on her face.

  Sighing, I turn around to check what Luz is doing.  

She follows an oddly small demon up the statue to where I'm situated.  

King shoves him off and steals his lollipop.

  I watch the little demon fall to the ground with a splat and then I turn around to Luz.

  She's watching Eda and Lilith with a sad look on her face.

  "No apple blood", Eda sighs, "I spent the money on griffin eggs for Luz.  There's not a lot she can digest here." 

 Luz bites her lip, hearing what Eda had said.

  "I don't want to feel like a burden to Eda but she won't let me take on bigger bounties." Luz sighs.

  My face lights up at the thought of an idea 

"So, why don't we take on a bigger bounty without Eda knowing?" 

《Hi!  Sorry that this chapter doesn't have much of your perspective and the final part of Seperate Tides.  I'll post that tomorrow, if I can.  My music class is online because the teacher's sister caught Covid, so I'll see what I can do.》
