Can I really get into UA? I'm not athletic. I'm not strong. All I have going for me is a strong quirk. Hero's are popular and get friends right?

I lay awake for most of the night. Tossing and turning. Wondering about if I really have what it takes. The only popular person I know is Bakugou. He not only has a strong quirk, but is strong and confident too. He could get into UA anyday.

I wish I was more like him. If I was confident I could be more popular, and have friends, right?
If I get into UA will I be popular?

Most of the night I lay thinking. However, eventually I was able to go to sleep.

The Next Day

After school, I decided to walk straight home. Master Reigen hadn't given me any calls today. I thought I could be free for the rest of the day. I was mistaken.
Suddenly a woman with a smiley face mask started approaching me.

"Pardon me, young man. Something must be troubling you. You aren't laughing or smiling.

"No..."

"I can tell! You're worried about your studies right?"

"I'm not."

"Of course not. It's not your studies... Yes it must be hard dealing with family issues."

"Actually, I don't have any."

"Of course you don't. It must be your health... No... It's about popularity!"

"How did you know?!"

She laughed having finally guessed the answer.
"If you want to resolve your troubles, come with me."

"Actually, I have to head home."

"You'll be popular."

"I'll go!"

A few minutes later

On the elevator in a mysterious building the woman started explaining where she had come from.
"I belong to a brand-new religious order that came into existence last month."

"Religious order?"

"It goes by LOL. Founded by our leader, Dimple Egao, it's the happiest and trendiest gathering of the century! Dimple has the power to make anyone happy and joyful immediately."

"That's not just a quirk?"

"No, no no! Not at all. His ability has been granted from above. It's not something someone could be born with."

"How will this make me popular?"

She laughed once again. "Don't come to assumptions so quickly. LOL is no suspicious in any way."

The elevator door opened to reveal a massive room, filled with people.

There sure are a lot of people. I wonder if they all want to be popular like me.

As I walked through the crowd, I was stopped by another person in a smiley mask.
"Are you also new? Make your way to the stage."

"Why?"

I was swarmed by LOL members, who happily pushed me onto the stage. There were two other people on the stage with me. One of them was what appeared to be a middle aged man, and the other was a girl my age.

"Hey... Hey! Did they convince you to come here too? My names Mezato Ichi, I'm from Salt Middle School." The girl introduced herself to me.

"M-my names is Shigeo Kageyama, but people call me Mob."
