Pulling himself forwards, Harry pulled his trunk onto the train, after leaving his trolley on the side of the platform. Rolling the heavy metal box down the corridor, he searched for Hermione. He found her in an unused compartment, as usual, holding a book in her hands. It seemed to be Hogwarts, a history.
"Hey 'Mione."
"Oh hello Harry, where are Y/N and Lexie?"
"They should be there in a minute."
"- HOW DARE YOU, YOU- YOU SLYTHERIN! YOU DISGUST ME!""...And there they are." The aforementioned girls then stalked into the compartment, nonexistent steam coming out of their ears.
"What did she do this time?" Hermione asked.
"Punched a first year and tried to call 'Mione something I don't want to say." Y/N said.
"He is nothing but a disgusting piece of - " Lexie said something she wouldn't have dared say in front of Aunt Petunia or Uncle Vernon. As the girls began to settle in for the ride, a heated discussion about Lockhart broke out. Then, there was a sudden jolt. The train started to inch forwards, and made its way from the covered platform and into the rainy sky and the wet track that lay ahead. They opened the window, and Hermione waved to her mum.
"BYE MUM! YES, I WON'T BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!" Hermione yelled.
Sitting back into the compartment, they settled in for a long ride.

As the train went faster and faster, the cities turned into farm fields, which turned into forests and then, finally, after a long two hours, when it was lunchtime, the trolley witch came around. Harry and Y/N ended up buying eight liquorice wands, six cauldron cakes and four packs of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. As they once again, settled in, Hermione screamed. There was a blue Ford Anglia flying next to their window and in it was their arch nemesis, Ronald Weasley. Weasley had always considered himself superior, even though he had no money and had insulted Y/N in order to try and become friends with Harry( their friend, Parvati Patil, had then informed him that Weasley was trying to get to Harry's huge fortune) Draco Malfoy had done the same, but he had apologised later on, and became good friends with the quartet. The aforementioned blond boy then came walking into their compartment and proceeded to promptly yell in surprise.
"What the hell is going on?!"
"DOES IT LOOK LIKE WE KNOW?!" Draco paled at this and just stared dumbfounded at the window, as the car went invisible. He sat down and then helped himself to the cauldron cake.
"Pansy was being all weird back in the Slytherin section, even I can't take that!"
The five friends settled back in for the ride. The fields outside then turned into forests, cities and after a gruelling five hours, it pulled up into the platform in Hogsmeade, the only wizarding village in the entirety of Britain.
They walked out of the stuffy compartment and made their way to the carriages on their right. Hagrid waved to them, before turning and yelling to the first years."Firs' years this way! Leave yer stuff on the train!" he bellowed. A wave of fresh, cold air immediately whipped their faces, awakening them more effectively than Hagrid's loud voice. They followed the other second years to the carriages and picked one. Draco parted with them and turned to his Slytherin acquaintances as they chose their own. The carriages were pure black, and they were pulled by invisible beings. Perhaps it was a ghost, but ghosts were not invisible... or were they? Harry shook his head, thinking it might just be his imagination. They got into the carriages, which had a distinct scent of mold and fungus. The leather on the seats was starting to peel away and foamy cushion was showing.
"These must be from the age of the Founders, mustn't they?" Y/N said.
"They are! Honestly, haven't any of you read Hogwarts, A History?" Hermione scoffed. Harry, Y/N and Lexie looked guiltily at her.
