kai woke up to a familiar bed, she wasn't quite sure whose it was but as her eyes peeled open, she recognised the room to be jadon's.
she didn't quite remember what happened at that party last night but all she did recall was she left crying. her fingers rubbed her temples, in attempt to stop the throbbing in her head.
she sat up, rubbing a hand now over her face to wipe out any tiredness. she was wearing a hoodie, which she thought would be jadon's and shorts.
kai leaned back her head on the bedrest, her mind frying to get back last night's activities. she arrived with avani, had a few drinks and danced, remembered talking to trent about their next games and even fixing her hair in the bathroom with amara.
all she couldn't seem to remember was why she was here when she could've been at home and why she left crying.
she walked down the steps and was met with jesse, marcus and jadon. the conversation they were having died down as soon as they heard her footsteps and she took a minute to look at all of their faces.
jadon kept his gaze at the floor while jesse and marcus looked at her with pity in their eyes, frowning.
"morning?" she waved with a tiny smile. kai was left confused when they didn't say anything.
"is there something wrong?" she asked, sitting next to next jadon on a stool before she kissed his cheek. he didn't actknowledge her, just simply kept looking at the floor.
kai furrowed her eyebrows when he didn't react. they all stared at her, wondering if she was so drunk to not remember anything.
jadon told ahold of the girl's hand, catching her off guard and shocking her. the older men then pushed out their chairs before jesse simply said, "we should leave now." and that was all left of the men after they left his house.
kai pushed her chair closer to his. "what's wrong?" she asked.
jadon sighed, "you don't remember anything from last night do you?" he asked and he watched her shake her head 'no.'
"i'm sorry kai, i really am." he apologised. for what? she didn't know. "sorry for what?" she chuckled.
"i promise she was the one that tired to kiss me, i promise it wasn't the other way around." kai's heart sank, "what?"
jadon could hear the crack in her tone, and for that he pulled her into a hug. kai didn't protest as she hugged her boyfriend back.
"jadon, you need to tell me what's happening," she said urgently, feeling herself grow more and more impatient by the second.
he pulled away and placed a tiny kiss in the corner of her mouth, his hands caressing her cheeks afterwards. "jenna kissed me." he blurted and her eyes went wide.
ah, that was why she was crying. the memories came back flooding into her mind, she stormed out with tears in her eyes as she had watched the scene unfold infront of her.
"and what did you do?"
"i pushed her away because i have you." he smiled a little, in hopes for her too as well. "you didn't kiss her back?" kai had sworn she saw him.
"no why would i?" jadon cocked his head to the side. he sighed, "what exactly do you remember my love?" he asked her.
"well i remember you told me i looked nice, then i got a drink and talked to trent in the kitchen, and i was coming to look for you then i saw that girl all up on you," kai said, looking sheepish.
"exactly, she kissed me for some game. we were dumb enough to actually play truth or dare and she got dared to kiss me. i told them i wasn't going to do that and it died down but she just launched herself at me and kissed me." jadon stated and kai could tell he was telling the truth because normally he would not looking her in the eye. and he is looking her in her eyes right now.
"and i pushed her away but you had already stormed out. i was coming after you and you just told me to take you home but i knew i couldn't do that because i messed up and should've walked out on that game earlier. i'm sorry." he only kept apologising as he pulled her into his embrace for the second time.
his lifted up the hoodie she was wearing and latched his arms around her belly, lifting her up and placing kai on him.
kai understood he would never cheat on her, she also understood that he pulled away and he didn't want to do it. she just wished he told her before because she said she didn't want to see him last night.
"i'm sorry i made you cry." his voice came out as a muffle into her neck, his hot breath tickling her skin. he really did hate seeing tears in her eyes and it made him feel worse that he was the reason for them. "i promise i won't do it again."
"it's okay, at least now i know the truth." she said, pushing herself closer to him. he soon got up and took them to the couch, having a more proper seat.
"i really hate that girl," she chuckled, her mood a little dull.
"me too," jadon agreed, shaking his head with a tiny sneer. "plus she was dating kayo, could you imagine that pain my baby is probably in?" kai injected.
jadon pouted, "i thought i was your baby?" his childish words made kai laugh a little bit. "you are!" she exclaimed, jumping into his arms once more.
jadon hummed with his eyes closed, taking in kai's glory with his hands secured on her stomach.
he hadn't realised it, if even not way before, but kai was the woman he loved. he just had to find the perfect moment to tell her.
