Hey guys! Wow, I feel like I haven't updated this in foreverrrrr... Anyways, while watching Supernatural, I have come across the need to travel. I don't even know why. My brain is just like OOH LETS GO TO ENGLAANNNDDD AND FRAAANNCCEEE AND JAPAAAANNN AND GERRRMAANNYYYY!!! Except, most of these places have their own language.
Which means I have to learn to speak all of these things. So, here begins my journey to learn French and Japanese.
MY 3 LANGUAGES WHICH I'M LEARNING:
1. English. Which I already know but my teacher seems determined to enhance my vocabulary... Ugh. Also, British slang and certain terms/words/phrases are different than American words, so when I go to England, I'll have a lot to memorize.
2. French. Been taking it for about a year now, and I can't wait to ACTUALLY BECOME FLUENT. By now, I can probs say "she ran to the cat," "he eats a big blue fish," and "the dog eats the head of the cat and laughs very hard" in French. Wow. I'm so proud of myself. Duolingo.com lets you learn French online for FREE, which is what I've been using outside of learning it from school!
3. Japanese. I found a few sites that let you learn Japanese for FREE! (comment below if you want the links...) The problem with Japanese is that there are 3 alphabets you need to learn: Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana. Plus all the grammar and sentence structure, the honoraries, and the traditions of Japan.
Kanji has a character for each word, and to become "fluent" you gotta learn at least 2,000 characters. Hiragana is an alphabet with about 40 or so characters. Katakana and Hiragana have the same sounds but different characters. WHICH IS SO ANNOYING YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW.
I can sorta recognise kanas (characters) in Hiragana and I know basic words like "arigatou gozaimasu" and "kadaisi."
Japanese is difficult, but you HAVE to know it if you wanna go to Japan. Less than .5% of Japan's population is from the West, and most Japanese people do not know English. Which kinda sucks for us...
LANGUAGE IS SO DIFFICULT
