TESS BECK was, like most people in her family, incredibly intelligent with a drive to match. Whatever she wanted, she went for, and she usually got it. Except it seems, when Peter Parker is involved.

Not only was he showing up in her life when she least expected it, but he was also dangerously close to surpassing her as first in their class at the Midtown School of Science and Technology. Not if she could help it. Truly her life would be so much easier if he had chosen literally anywhere else to attend school. But instead her freshman year is spent trying to make sure Peter Parker never catches up to her, even if it means distracting him on their trip to Oscorp.

But then Captain America declares war on the US government, her dad loses his job at Stark Industries, and Peter Parker snatches her internship away from her without so much a care in the world. Her whole life turned upside down in the span of less than a month.

And suddenly her simple rivalry with the puppy-eyed boy turns to pure, unadulterated, loathing.
