Maddy POV
I pushed through the doors of Chickfila and Jake trailed behind with one of his hands enter laced with mine. I really needed to get things off my mind, being with Jake really helped me though, he made me laugh and smile when im at the saddest or most worried.
"Will you order for me?" I asked with the best sweet smile I could muster. I couldn't show how worried I was, Tate would go through anything to get to me, he's mentally insane. I worried that because of me, Jake would get seriously hurt. I didn't want anything bad to happen to him. "Sure. You want the usual?" He said not looking at me. Why wasn't he looking at me? It worried me was he mad or something, he was fine two seconds ago. I hurried to the bathroom and washed my hands, fixed my hair and checked my makeup.
Jakes POV
I was getting kinda irritated because tate was going to get near her, and I didn't want anything bad to happen to her. I shouldn't take it out on her though, I need to be here for her.
I was next in line and I ordered her favorite, chicken sandwich with a Caesar salad. I ordered me the same but with fries and got us both sweet teas. I got out tray and paid, when I saw Maya walking over, she quickly turned around and got a table. When I set everything down she looked at me her eyebrows raised. "What's wrong?" She asked wrapping her cold hands around mine, I took them in and warmed them for her like I always did.
"Nothing, just this whole Tate thing babe I don't want anything bad to happen, but I know I need to stop being such a bastard and talk to you about it." I said in a kind tone.
Maddys POV
"Don't be worried love, nothing bad will happen." I fake smiled and he started to eat. That's what was bothering him, he doesn't have to worry, because nothing bad will happen...I hope.
