Takes place during the heat of "The Great Divide"
"According to the director's opinion's on the episode during a podcast; they personally disliked what was written, and so do I. Why should Aang be the one to glue back the wedge between the Gan Jin tribe and the Zhang tribes? The job as Avatar will give you plenty of responsibility, and there's nothing Aang would dream of more other than world peace. But in this story, this goal will get the worst of him, to the brink of a breakdown..."
"As they are stuck in the canyon, another feud breaks out between the two tribes, but this time it becomes so verbal, to where they ACTUALLY but unintentionally blame the little Avatar for all of this."
Way down in the canyon-
Zhang leader: I don't know why I was even bothered to travel with the likes of you, with my tribe here having to suffer under your high-and-mighty self!
Gan Jin leader: You cannot even blame me, I never wanted to travel alongside you in the first place, it all shows what kind of person you are.
Aang: Guys...
Zhang leader: Look, we had everything under control!
Gan Jin leader: It doesn't look like it from here...
Then as the two leaders put up their fists, and with Aang about to go in between and physically stop another fight,
Canyon guide: ^^ Why that's why I'm here, to make sure everything's all accounted for-
Both leaders: *interrupt him together* SHUT UP!
Canyon guide: Okay...
Zhang leader: If anyone is to blame *points to Aang* it's the kid over there!
This is the moment things get tense. Katara and Sokka now became shocked in total disbelief that you would blame Aang for an argument, especially an argument that he had nothing to do with. It was all becoming nothing but ridiculous but also upsetting to him.
Aang: ...what?
Gan Jin leader: Hey, she has a point. The situation hasn't gotten any worse before you interfered.
Zhang leader: Yeah! So far all that your words really HAVE done is make this worse.
Aang: I-I was only trying to help!
Sokka: Yeah, show the kid some respect! This is what he does! It's corny, but it's what he does.
Gan Jin leader: I think what I will respect is that some people just aren't meant to lead. Not the boy, and not the female lead of that opposing tribe there.
Zhang leader: Hey! What do I have to do with this? I'm only helping out my people! Now you're just being ridiculous. *looks towards Aang* And I don't know how you can ever put an end to this.
Katara: Just leave Aang out of this, please!
Zhang leader: Hm... So you trust the boy, but how are we supposed to trust him?
Gan Jin leader: The last thing we need to hear from you right now is false hope.
Those two words, "false hope", echo in Aang's head, as he stands there in a cold sweat becoming more frustrated as the two tribes argue and are putting him into the subject. But what was now triggering him was when they were looking directly at Katara. This would be his breaking point...
Aang breathes heavily fighting to control his Avatar state, then tears rise in his eyes as he's failing to do so... He just hates seeing Katara and Sokka being put into this. The two siblings have done nothing but take care of Aang and are still guiding him through their journey, and to see them being treated like they are no help is what's making Aang... want to...
