Clove awoke with a few shakes from Navaeh, Lee's loud voice traveling through their compartment, yelling at Fred and George about a prank.
"Clove! You're awake! How was your nap?" Lee smiled over at her, his smile bringing one to her face as well
"I slept good. I'm gonna go put my robes on." She grabbed her robes and slipped out of the compartment, trying her best not to bump into the other students.
She approached the bathroom and saw Hermione coming out. Hermione was just an angel. Clove admired the girl. Her desire to do extremely well in school was amazing. When the girl earned the "know-it all" title her very first year, Clove immediately took Hermione under her wing. Being there for her when Draco had called her the 'word' was one of the worst of it. She had never seen someone cry so hard, and it broke her heart. Ever since then, Clove has been like an older sister to Hermione.
"Hello, Clove! Going to change into your robes?" she girl asked
"Yeah. How was your summer? I missed you so much." and it was true. Clove missed the girl more than anything
"It was amazing! Spending time with family is always amazing, of course. I missed you as well. We need to talk later, I missed our nightly talks."
Ah, yes. The nightly talks. Every night, Hermione would come to Cloves dorm to talk. There wasn't ever a specific topic. It often jumped from school, to rants, and maybe even boys, if Clove could get the younger girl to talk. She saw the way Hermione looked at Ron. Sure, they are only in third year, but Clove would put money on those two....okay she did, with Lee. 50 galleons is on the line and shes determined they will be together by the end of their seventh year.
"We do, mione." she smiled at the girl as she heard Harry calling the girls name.
"Go, I've got to change anyways." Hermione sent a smile to Clove as she walked back into her compartment with Ron and Harry, leaving Clove to change into her robes.
She stepped in, locked the door, and quickly changed as she thought about what this year would bring. Hopefully nothing too crazy. Especially with the Chamber opening last year, it was the last thing she needed was more weird stuff happening.
Back in the compartment, Fred was chatting with Navaeh as she held Oscar, scratching behind his ear, earning soft purrs from the feline. Lee attempted to talk to George, but failed.
"Merlin, George. What is going on inside that head? Are you even listening to a word Ive been saying?" Lee threw his hands around, trying to gain the gingers attention. Finally, he settled on smacking him.
"Ow!! What the hell, Lee?" George rubbed his now sore arm as he furrowed his brows and looked at the boy.
"I have been talking to you, and you've zoned out. Probably thinking about Clove." he mumbled that last part, not allowing George to hear
"Ive listened." he insisted
"Wrong." Lee deadpanned, looking straight on at George
"Excuse me? Jordan-" Lee cut him off before he could finish his sentence with another smack.
A little bit later, Clove walked back to their compartment. Bumping into a few people with quick "hi's" and "how was your summer?".
Finally, Clove opened the compartment door and put her clothes back into her bag, taking a look around. Oscar now on Lees lap, Lee whispering words she couldn't make out, but she could see him glaring at George. Fred was now lying his head on the compartment glass window to the hall, fast asleep, drool soon to be on the glass as Navaeh was reading a potions book. She looked over to George, reading.
"Is that my book?" she asked him, making him jump as he didn't know she was standing there watching him
"Uhm, yeah. Is that alright? Got bored...." he trailed off, blushing a bit as he looked at her, closing the book and putting it to the side.
"Yeah! Of course. I don't mind at all." she reassured him, smiling and sitting down next to him.
"Which one are you reading?"
"Oh, this one." he showed her the cover
"Pride and Prejudice? Do you like it?" she questioned
"Yeah, s'alright. I'm only on page 58 though."
"Keep it for a bit. I don't mind. Already read it about a thousand times." she told him, handing him a sticky note for a bookmark from her bag. he put in on the page and closed it, sending her a smile as she settled back into her seat.
Clove knew there was only about thirty minutes till they arrived. She kept watching George read her book. The way he looked so focused and fascinated with what he was reading, his soft breathes, and the way he could hold the whole book with one hand.
She was snapped out of her thoughts when Naveh kicked her foot and gave her a questioning look. Clove just shook her head put her head back as she waited for the train to make its stop.
The girl literally counted down.
20 minutes
15 minutes
10 minutes
7 minutes
4 minutes
1 minute
And they finally all left the train. She couldn't wait for a new year. Her home away from home. Clove loved Hogwarts more than anywhere in the world.
She often thought about how sad she would be when she would graduate. But for now, she focused on getting to the carriages and getting to eat soon.
