Sou rubbed his eyes and reached for the phone on the counter with the charger half unplugged from it
"2:16... wait... 2:16?!?!" Sou almost fell out of bed after realizing how long he overslept
His best friend (soon to be boyfriend) Eve was supposed to come over at 2:30 p.m and now it's already 2:16 p.m, and for Sou to fully get ready, he needed atleast 20 minutes
Sou was freaking out, but he calmed himself down and walked to the bathroom to get ready
"Wait... how did I oversleep..?" Sou wondered for a second and got his answer as he started coughing
"Ahh right... I'm sick, I wonder if I should tell Eve-San... no no that will just give him trouble." Sou started talking to himself while washing his face
After a few minutes, the doorbell rang
"Hello?"
"Ahh coming!"
Sou opens the door to see his best friend, but didn't quite get it when he started giggling
"Eve-San? Why are you laughing?" Sou asked, confused
"No no it's fine, it's just you still have your toothbrush in your mouth"
"EHHH??"
"That's embarrassing..." Sou said, but his voice was barely above a whisper
"It's fine, honestly" Eve replied
"Wait... I said that out loud?!" Sou was mentally panicking
"Yeah"
"Ahhhhhhhhh!!" Sou yelled in a more of a complaining voice
"Maybe go finish brushing your teeth first ww" Eve said with a chuckle
"R-right!" Sou rushed back to the bathroom and came back a minute later
"Now, what happened to you?"
Sou, who didn't want to tell Eve he was sick just said: "well, I kinda overslept.."
"And exactly how did you manage to oversleep? The last time you told me you overslept was when we we're in elementary"
"I got just tired!" Sou pouted
"Yes yes whatever you say ww" Eve started taking his coat off
The truth is that Eve knew very well Sou was sick and that was the reason he overslept instead of just tired, why? Well, you can say Mamatsuki told him and just him specifically
"So." Eve looked at Sou with a rather serious look
"Umm... y-yeah?" Sou was nervous, he has never heard the older male sound like that before
"Ww" Eve smiled and laughed silently
"Ehh!? What's so funny?" Sou was confused
"Ehh? Nothing! Just wondering how you would be able to be so energetic even if you're sick" Eve answered
"H-how do you know..." Sou's voice fading as he spoke
"Well, I heard from Amatsuki that you were sick from two or three days ago so I came to check on you" Eve explained
"Ahh... ok, I'm sorry for bothering you"
"It's ok it's ok, but you really need to take care of yourself more" Eve said, patting Sou on the head
"Y-yeah..."
Sou put away his toothbrush and immediately started coughing
"Hah... maybe you should go back to bed, I'll take care of you" Eve said
"O-okay" Sou whispered while walking back to his bedroom

"Sou?"
"Eh? Amatsuki san?"
"Mn, so umm... when are you planning to confess since... y'know it's been quite a while"
"You don't mean... do you?" Sou's face was red, really red
"I do mean that"
"Ehhhh no! I- what if he- I- I can't I just-" the one thing Sou always does when it comes to this? Stutter
"Come on we're not going through what SoraMafu did again are we?"
"But didn't Eve San say that he has someone he likes already?"
"Could be you for all I know"
"But-"
"Sou, if you're so sure he doesn't like you, you still need to confess"
"What?"
"Because, if you're gonna bottle it up, the more you'll be mislead and if he actually end up not liking you, you'll take a much greater impact when that time comes" (look, I don't know anything abt this it's just how my logic works-)
"... right..." Sou looked down at his knees, but Sou immediately ended up coughing
"S-Sou? Are you ok?! What happened?" Amatsuki was worried
"I... I sneaked out to eat ice cream yesterday night..."
"SOU!" the brunette said with a bit of a complaint noise
"Aaaack I can't take care of you... I have to leave for a concert tomorrow..."
"It's ok! It's probably just some coughing, I can't take care of myself!" Not wanting to worry Amatsuki, Sou assured him he can take care of himself
"Alright, but definitely no more sneaking out for cold drinks at night, ok?"
"Hai!"

"E-Eve-San?"
"Mhm?" Eve answered while putting a cold towel on Sou's head
"I... I want to make a bet with you!"
"What? Sou... didn't you dislike bets?" Eve, confused but didn't stop what he was doing
"... my bet, would you accept?"
"... of course, what is it"
"I... bet it that you like me" Sou suddenly got up, his face was really close to Eve's, the normal Sou wasn't like this, it was like he almost swapped personalities
"I-" Eve's face was red, bright red, from Sou hitting the jackpot? or from how close their faces were from each other's? Okay let's be real, it's both
"W-well" yep, back to our normal Sou

"E-Eve San I understand if you-"
"Sou..."
"Y-yes?"
"Haa..." Eve sighed, then turned to face Sou fully
"If this was actually a bet then... you hit the jackpot"
"I- I- does that mean Eve San..."
"Mhm, love you"
"..." Sou needed to process this, his brain malfunctioned
"Sou Chan?"
"..." Sou didn't say anything and just covered himself up with his blanket
"come on, even if you don't want to see anything right now I still have to put the towel on your head" Eve smiled
"I wouldn't want my boyfriend's sickness to be any worse now would I?"
"B- boyfriend?!" Sou's face was burning up once again
"Yep, you like me too don't you?"
"I- I- I- Hmph!" Sou couldn't find anything to say so he just pouted
"Hah" Eve lifted up the blanket forcefully
"E-Eve San...?"
"Come on, don't cover your head" Eve finally managed to put the towel on Sou's head
"I'll go make some porridge, just stay here, ok?"

"Hey Eve San?"
"Hmm?"
"Thank you"
