"Please bless my family today as well!" A young boy named Sou put down some biscuits and mochi near the shrine he was at
He prays there every day for his family's safety, his grandmother was sick and haven't been able to walk properly ever since
The doctor told Sou that his grandmother would pass away in the next 2 years, which made Sou come pray at the shrine
"... I'm always here, the snacks are nice too" Eve sat on the side shrine
"W-who's there!" The young boy jumped
"... who was on the shrine..?" He shook his head
Must have been my hallucination he thought
Eve smiled as he watched Sou leave, picking up the plate with the snacks on it
*years later, Sou's in highschool*
The doctor was correct, his grandmother passed away, but it was 4 years instead of 2. He stopped going to the shrine as he had nothing in particular to pray for now. His mother went missing, possibly dead and his father became an alcoholic
I wonder where that boy is now... it's been years... Eve jumped off the side of the shrine, Sou's child form came back to his mind and how he would pray at his shrine everyday
Suddenly, Eve saw a boy and sure enough, it was Sou, his appearance didn't change much, still looks very cute, but he grew taller, not at tall as Eve though...
Sou stopped in front of the shrine and turned his head to look at it
"Ahh, I remember praying here... grandma lived an extra 2 years, I wonder if praying did work..."
Sou walked to the shrine, putting down a bag of biscuits
"Purr..." a cat with dark yellow fur and blue eyes came from behind the shrine and picked up the bag with it's mouth, trying to open it but no avail
The cat then nudged Sou's leg with it's head, trying to get the human to open the bag
"Aww, such a cute kitty, are you a stray cat? Or did you run away?" Sou asked while opening the packaging and feeding a biscuit to the cat
The cat nudged Sou's hand, the fur felt nice so Sou decided to pat it
"Do you want to go home with me?" Sou asked
The cat looked happy and it's ears twitched
"Alright! You'll go home with me!"
"Nyahhhh" the cat was happy
*back to Sou's house*
"Now, what should I name you?" Sou asked, it was already evening since Sou didn't go home right away
"Ahh, it's evening already... it looks pretty outside... hmm... What should I call you ww"
"Purr"
"Awww... wait, now that I take a closer look... you look like someone I saw once..."
"Meow?"
"Blonde hair, blue eyes... AH! THE PERSON I SAW AT THE SHRINE!"
"Meow?!" The cat now has it's eyes widened
Did he figure out it was me already??? Eve was shocked
"Wait... I don't think cats can have blonde fur..."
"... fine, why are humans so smart these days..." Eve jumped off the sofa
"OH MY GOD!?!?"
Eve transformed into his normal form, he looked like a human, with a yukata of course
"Yes, you are right, I am the person you saw at the shrine when you were younger"
"Wait, does that mean you're the god I've been praying to?! Ahh I'm so sorry I took you here! I didn't know I-"
"It's fine" Eve cut the panicking male off
"The shrine's abandoned anyways, it doesn't matter"
"E-eh?" Sou was confused, what did he mean by abandoned?
"You see, the younger you was the last person to pray at my shrine and that was... how many years ago was it..."
"13"
"Ahh right, 13 years ago, that's when my shrine became abandoned"
"Anyways on to the important part!"
"Important... part?"
"Yes! I grant a wish to everyone that can see me, which is not a lot of people"
"Anything or...?"
"I make the conditions... sorry"
"Ahh it's fine" Sou was swinging his legs slightly
"First, you become immortal, second, I can bring your mother back!" Eve smiled
"None of those are valid..." Sou looked down at one of his pillows
"Oh?"
"Becoming immortal means I'll have to be lonely"
"Well, I can be your friend if you want? But then why not the family one?" Eve was curious
"My family grew to hate me and I cut off all connections, so now I don't even have a last name"
"Oh... then would you like me to change the wishes I could-"
"I'll take the immortality one, since you said at least you'll be my friend"
"... of course, Sou-Kun" Eve said with a smile
"But, would you like me to turn you immortal right now? If I do that means your age and appearance stays like this forever"
"... do it now, I'll stay 18 forever. By the way, how old are you... umm... what do I call you?"
"Eve, and forever 19"
"... Nice to meet you, Eve-San" Sou said as a light flowed around him
"..." Sou blinked a few times and looks at his appearance, nothing changed, but now he was wearing a yukata with a fan in his right hand
"..." Sou was silent
"Hm? You ok?" Eve asked
"... Thank you" Sou hugged Eve tightly
Eve smiled and patted Sou on the back, and didn't notice his heart skipped a beat
*years later, like, 2 decades later*
"Sou-kun, Tadaima" Eve said to his boyfriend
"Ah! Welcome back!" Sou stood up from the couch and gave Eve a hug
The apartment didn't change, the but the city changed, drastically. There were new buildings, houses and parks, but one thing didn't change, the shrine and the old bridge beside it
"Wanna go watch the sunset near that old bridge?" Eve asked, holding his hand out to Sou
"Of course! Let's go!" Sou grabbed the taller males hand and boom, they were at the bridge the very next second
"The sunset looks so pretty here... it's a shame people won't come to this place anymore"
"Yes but on the other hand, this place would get more torn out then it already is if people came here, and most importantly, I won't be able to enjoy this scenery with my beloved boyfriend alone!" Eve gave Sou a kiss on the cheek
"E-eh?" Sou's brain stopped functioning for a split second, before his face flushed bright red
"D-don't just kiss me out of no where!" Sou covered his cheek, more specifically, the part Eve had just kissed
"Sorry sorry ww, it's just fun trying to get a reaction out of you
"Hmph!" Sou pouted as the sun kept setting, stretching their shadow slowly, you can see a brunette with his head on a blonde male's shoulder
