CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE, her again

*・゚:*・゚

THE GROUP WAS preparing to send Clint back in time to rest Tony's ideas. Rocket and Nebula had touched on ground with one another, Nebula sending a warning of sorts to Rhodey who touched down shortly after. After Rhodey's arrival, Bruce and Rocket had left to visit New Asgard and collect Thor for their team. After Rhodey's relentless searching, per Natasha's request, Clint had been located. Natasha was adamant on going on her own, claiming there was only one other person who would've ever been able to get through to Clint like her. Ivanna. Steve relented, and informed the rest of the team that Natasha would get Clint.

After there had been confirmation on who all they would have for their team, it was all left to Tony to decide what all was needed for the machine. Natasha eventually had returned with Clint, and Bruce and Rocket with Thor. With that, everyone began putting together the time machine.

It had been decided between Clint, Rhodey, Scott, Bruce, and Nebula that they would send Clint to test the machine. The rest of the team agreed and they prepared Clint and the machine. By the time Steve had entered the room, Bruce was delivering instructions and everything Clint needed to know.

"Alright, Clint. We're going in 3... 2... 1!"

A helmet appeared over Clint's head, and Steve watched as he disappeared into the Quantum realm. Steve kept his fingers crossed as he watched from afar, waiting for Clint's return and any clue as to if they were successful or not. Natasha was just as giddy, standing as close to the platform as she could. Suddenly Clint remateralised in front of their eyes, breathing heavily and sitting on the platform.

Natasha was the first to make a move in his direction, grabbing his shoulders and helping him to his feet. Natasha held his cheek softly and guided him to look at her, "Hey, hey. Look at me. You okay?"

Clint nodded, gesturing to the baseball mitt in his hand before he looked toward Tony and threw the mitt, "Yeah, it worked. It worked."

Steve, Tony, and Bruce were pacing around the front of the room, everyone gathered at the table and watching them closely. They were formulating the next step to their plan. While their plan was being plotted and they were guaranteed some assurance it would work, Steve was still wary that something may go wrong.

"Okay, so the "how" works," Steve looked amongst the group, "Now we gotta figure out the when and the where. Almost all of us has had an encounter with at least one of the six Infinity Stones."

Tony sent Steve a look then turned to everyone else, "Well I'd substitute the word encounter for damn well near been killed by one of the six Infinity Stones."

"I haven't," Scott spoke up from his spot and Steve glanced in his direction, "I don't even know what the hell you're all talking about."

"Regardless," Bruce began, brushing past what Scott had said, "we only have enough Pym Particles for one round trip each, and these stones have been in a lot of different places throughout history."

"Our history," Tony corrected smugly, "So, not a lot of convenient spots to just drop in."

"Which means we have to pick our targets," Clint concluded, not meaning it in a question of any way.
