The sun was blazing hot on that peculiar day. People on the streets were doing their best to hurry along and look for cover, but the sun was merciless and there were no clouds to be seen on the horizon. So much for a nice summer morning. But not everyone was trying to avoid the scorching heat, or rather, could.
Just outside of the downtown of Madrid, on a casual workday, at the local baseball stadium, people were playing. The spectators who showed up to see the match were rethinking all their choices. It really was a terribly hot day.
Just outside the stadium, a small boy was struggling to get his mum to move faster.
,,Come on mum!! Faster, before we miss it!!'' yelled the tiny man while pulling his mum towards the huge baseball stadium. The boy was carrying a little baseball glove in his right hand, a pitcher's glove.
,,Yes, yes, I'm coming, don't worry.'' smiled the women, ,,be careful! Look where you are going!'' yelled the mum, still smiling, as her son leaped on towards the stadium. She just smiled and walked on forward, soon feeling the relief on her body as the walls of the stadium covered her from the hot summer sun.
Not soon enough for the young boy, the pair made it to their seats in the huge baseball arena. They had the perfect view over the field while also staying under the protective shade of the stadium ceiling.

Akira couldn't wait to get back to the hotel. The day had started like normal, but he wasn't one to be able to handle the hot days well. He had definitely gotten more used to it, but he always melted at the end. He still couldn't complain. He knew what he had signed himself up for when he accepted the Mercis Middle & High School's offer. He was still very young then and it was a weird offer, but it seemed worth it at the time. The school had offered him a scholarship if the family agreed to allow Akira to join the school's study abroad program.
Now that he was in Spain, he missed home. But worst of all, he missed his brother . Sure he was a loudmouth, but he was his brother, his blood. He hadn't seen him in months. He had been travelling around Europe for a while now.
One more game . He thought. And then it's home . Finally home. Their vacation, or holiday, whatever you wanted to call it, was approaching and this was the last game of the season for Akira's team. They still had to stay in Spain for a few more weeks, for practice and game study, but that was easier, less stress.
,,Akira!''
Hearing his name being called shaked him out of his thoughts. He shook his head to try to clear his mind. One more time . Just one more time , he thought, and then I can stop .
Akira stood up slowly, stretching his back in the process.
,,Ready to go?'' Akira raised his eyes upon hearing the voice again. It was Haru, the second baseman. His blond hair was messy under the black cap, but his uniform was squeaky clean. Like it had never seen the red sand of the baseball stadium ever before.
Akira nodded in response and fixed his own cap while stepping out of the dugout. He walked behind the second baseman towards the middle of the field. Minutes before their captain had won them the ticket to start on defense. Akira couldn't decide if it was a good thing or not.
Now the whole team was waiting for their prince to take the mounds.
Akira sighed loudly as the sun blared down on all of them. He fixed his cap again, making sure the shade of it was covering his face. This was annoying. Really fucking annoying , he thought.
,,Guys. This is the last game. If we lose this you know what will happen'' the captain sent everyone a look, ,,I know you guys are tired, it's been a tough week. Remember to stay sharp, we are better than them, so let's go win this shit and get it over and done with''
