"I FEEL TERRIBLE FOR LYING TO THEM." Sydney's voice had gained the attention of her boyfriend, who had immediately looked down at his chest where her head had been resting. Sydney and Rudy were lying on his bed in his childhood bedroom, winding down after a day spent with his family. They had retreated to Rudy's old room after sitting with his family for dinner. Sydney was exhausted and Rudy could tell, so choosing the call it a night so Sydney could relax. She had been lying with her head on Rudy's chest as she messaged their friends on her phone.

Rudy had been reading the messages through Sydney's phone, as his own sat beside him, vibrating every time a message was sent. "Well—"

Sydney had cut him off before he could finish. "It was my choice, I know." She sighed. "I just didn't think they'd be this suspicious and keep asking us. It would be so much easier if they just weren't asking and then I wouldn't have to lie. I'd just be withholding the truth." Sydney explained but saying it out loud didn't make herself feel any better like she thought.

"Is that not the same thing?" Rudy frowned down at Sydney, who was now staring up at him.

"No, if someone isn't asking then I don't have to lie."

"Right." Rudy nodded, pinching his lips together as he held back a laugh. It didn't really make sense to him but if it did to Sydney then that was okay.

"You feel bad too, right?" Sydney wasn't sure how Rudy had felt about the situation, at least not concerning their friends, but he hadn't seemed to feel guilty as Sydney had.

"Of course I do." He had felt guilty but he was respecting Sydney's decision to not tell anyone yet. "But this was your choice."

Another sigh left Sydney's lips. "I know." She knew she'd get the backlash from their friends for keeping it a secret, not him, not when it was her choice. Which probably made her feel even worse, which Rudy could see. He brought a hand up to run through Sydney's hair, rubbing his fingers over scalp to make her feel better. It usually did. And after a few minutes, Rudy noticed Sydney a little more relaxed than she was a few minutes prior as she then had started scrolling through her emails, stopping on one in particular. "Did you see the email we got about the season 2 announcement?" Sydney looked up at Rudy again.

"I did. We've got to film a clip for a video." He told her, remembering reading the email from Netflix that is agent had forwarded to him.

"Yeah." Sydney nodded before looking back down at her phone. "I was thinking, maybe we could film a little video together and send it in?" She hadn't wanted to see Rudy's reaction to her suggestion, in fear he thought it was a stupid idea.

"Together?" Rudy frowned.

"Yeah. Together." Sydney repeated his words. "We could do the one separately like they asked. But then film one together." She thought they could send it in for them to post and that would be them announcing their relationship.

"You know they're posting this online, right?" Rudy wasn't fully understanding.

"Yeah, that's the point." Sydney playfully rolled her eyes. "Everyone will know then."

Rudy continued to stare down at Sydney, placing his hand under her chin so she would look back up at him. "You want to do that?" He asked her, making sure.

"I do." Sydney smiled up at her boyfriend. "Then we don't have to do anything. The video will do it for us."

Rudy smiled back. He loved that idea. "I'm down."

"Yeah?"

"Of course I am." Rudy's finger traced Sydney's cheek. He was happy that they could finally share their relationship with everyone and he wouldn't have to keep it a secret anymore. He could tell the world that he was in love in Sydney Wilson.

the fact this fic is very almost at 650k is crazy. thank you guys so much
i'm hoping to finish soon and start working on the sequel! which i'm still interested in writing if you guys still want that!
