My Guardian Angel

Chapter 2

100 years later

"Beomgyu!" Beomgyu looked up from the work he was doing and saw his best friend.

"Yes Ryujin, what is it? I'm a little busy right now." Beomgyu smiled gently at her and she sat down in the seat in front of him.

"Well oppa, I'm here to tell you good news! Can you spear me a few minutes please?" Ryujin said.

"I guess I can," Beomgyu teased her, "what's up?"

"Well you're going to be very excited when I tell you that 100 years have passed!" Ryujin said enthusiastically.

It took Beomgyu a few minutes to register what she was saying and then it struck him hard.

"Wait, you mean?" Beomgyu said as his voice started to crack a bit.

"Yes! You get to see Taehyun again! Congratulations oppa!" Ryujin said with a smile. Her heart felt warm when he saw Beomgyu start to cry out of happiness.

She came up to him and engulfed him into a hug, letting him cry in her shoulder as she told him it was going to be ok.

Beomgyu has waited for this day for so long. During the 100 years, he watched Taehyun be born again and again. Each with different deaths at different ages. It's like he was getting an extra punishment.

The worst death Beomgyu had to sit and witness is when Taehyun was just 2 years old. Left in a room by his parents to starve to death. The screams and cries of baby Taehyun still haunts him in his dreams.

But now, it was finally his turn. He gets to protect Taehyun from everything that could possibly hurt him, whether it be his parents, himself, or anything that could hurt him.

You see, these Guardian Angels aren't like what you've heard in fairytales. Beomgyu has the ability to physically be able to do anything that could protect him. He was able to move him out of harms way physically. In short meaning, Taehyun was the only one who could see him.

A knock was heard on the door and Beomgyu pulled away from Ryujins embrace and went to go open the door.

"Jimin hyung!" Beomgyu smiled and held the older Angel who took care of him all these years. Trained him into being the Guardian Angel he was today. But most importantly loved him.

"Hello Beomgyu, hi Ryujin. Beomgyu today is a very special day. I need you to come with me. We're going to get your human assigned today. But be aware that you're going to meet the devil you have to work on. Are you ready for your first huge task as a Guardian Angel? All the training I've taught you is going to be very helpful." Jimin said as he looked at him.

"I'm always ready hyung. Take me there please." Beomgyu said as he walked out, giving one last final hug to Ryujin.

"Don't miss me too much oppa!" Ryujin said as she tried her best not to cry. She was going to miss him a lot.

"Don't cry Ryujin. Just know that I will be back. It won't be for a long time but I will be back. I'll miss you. You've been an amazing best friend I could ever ask for. I love you." Beomgyu said as he gave the girl one last hug.

"I love you too oppa. I'm going to miss you so much. Go make Taehyun safe." Ryujin said as she leaned into the hug.

"Always. I have to go now. Good bye Ryujin." Beomgyu said his final good bye and did something that made their close friendship even closer. He leaned in and kissed her forehead gently like how a older brother would.

"Good bye Beomgyu. You're the best brother like best friend I could have ever asked for." Ryujin said and then hugged one last time, Beomgyu whispering sweet words in her ear, saying how she was the same to him, and she watched him leave, knowing that he is going to absolutely succeed in his mission and finally be happy again.
