I cut out the ad and threw the rest of the paper away. I sat down on the couch and took a deep breath. "Time to do this thing," I fixed my clothes, despite them not being able to see me since I was simply calling a number.

I dialed the number in and held it up to my ear. The phone rang once, twice, then someone picked up.

"Hello?" They asked, they sounded tired.

"Hi! I'm Y/n and I'm calling about the job offering in the paper," I winced at the sound of my own voice, wondering if I came off a bit strong.

"What about it?" They asked, they sounded indifferent to the whole thing.

"I want to apply," There was a thud on the other end, followed up with a mumbled, "shit"

"You want to apply?" They seemed very surprised. "Why?"

"Well, it's well paying and I have the time. I need a new job, this one seems to fit." I scrambled to find the right words. I probably should have worked out some sort of script before calling.

"You're 100% sure you want to apply?" They questioned again.

"Yes." I said sternly, getting a bit annoyed.

They seemed to scramble around looking for something, "Alright, well, do you want to set up a time and place to meet and do the interview?" They asked.

I nodded, "Sounds good to me," I gave them my number and we set up a time and place to meet.

We hung up the phone and I smiled. I put the phone down on the table and started jumping for joy. I was running low on money and was super excited to hopefully get a new job soon.

I made lunch to celebrate, treating myself to some ice cream as well. For the rest of the day I was in a good mood. I got lots of chores done and had a smile on my face the whole time.

By the time 7:30 rolled around I was sitting at the desk in my room, coloured pencils and charcoal pencils out and laid out all over my desk. My sketchbook was flipped open to a blank page, and I was contemplating what to draw.

I hummed in thought for a moment before deciding. The phone call that morning had reminded me of Sundrop. I smiled softly at the thought of him. I grabbed my pencil and started to sketch out the shape of him.

I spent the next few hours working on my picture of the sun animatronic. Once it was about 10 I leaned back in my chair. My picture wasn't done but I was getting tired. I got up and picked out clothes for the next day, the day I had the interview. Since I had the interview I picked something nice. Once I was happy with the clothing choice I went and took a warm shower before going to bed.

The next day I got up around 9 and made breakfast, a simple sunny side up egg and some bacon.

Once I finished eating, I put the dishes away in the sink and headed upstairs. I went to my room and grabbed my preset clothes from yesterday. I changed and went to the bathroom to fix my hair. I combed it out, getting all of the knots out before brushing it and styling it. I hummed lightly as I moved my hair so it was out of my face. I made sure my shirt was tucked in in the right places and my belt buckle was in front. Once I was happy with how I looked I took a deep breath and gave myself an encouraging nod in the mirror. I was ready for the day.
