Steve sighed, and ran a hand over his face. he really didn't want to do this.
he had been looking into Bucky's HYDRA files with Tony, and they had come across some rather shocking information. it turns out, in 1998, Bucky was in captivity under Baron Von Strucker, and an experiment was done to try and create a breed of Winter Soldiers that could be trained from birth, and sent on missions as soon as they could walk.
the information made Steve want to vomit, but he knew he had to find out if these children were still alive. if they were, they deserved to be with their father. Steve breathed deeply, before grabbing the file, and entering the room where Bucky was sitting.
he wasn't under interrogation, but Tony and Steve were determined to get as much information about HYDRA out of him as possible, but they were doing it on Bucky's terms. once he decided enough was enough for the day, he was free to go until the next day.
"okay," Steve said, sitting across from him at the table. Bucky took a sip of his hot chocolate, and smiled at his best friend. "this conversation might be a little hard."
Bucky looked at him, shocked. "is this about the shower thing? i needed the cash, i didn't know they would be filming!"
Steve stared at him, equally shocked. "Bucky, what did you-"
"nothing!" Bucky shouted, slamming his hand on the table. "nothing happened. i swear."
Steve gave him a look, and Bucky groaned, before cracking and confessing. "okay! jesus i'll tell you. you don't have to turn on your laser vision." he said, and cleared his throat before telling the story. "when i was being transported from California to New York, i met this other guy int he transport vehicle. no, i don't remember his name, so don't even ask." he said, holding up a metal finger. "we ended up in the same holding cell, and we started talking. we got really close over that journey, and when we were back in New York, they put us in the same cell together. we started to have...feelings for each other, and one day when we were in the showers, he said that he'd give me $50 to give him a blowjob."
"a what?" Steve said, alarmed. Bucky rolled his eyes.

"that wasn't what you were referring to, wasn't it?" Bucky said, shaking his head.
"no, it wasn't."
"what is it about, then?"
"1998." Steve said. "specifically, April 1998."
Bucky furrowed his eyebrows briefly before sighing. "the experiment."
"yes." Steve said. "did you ever meet the offspring that you fathered biologically?" Steve asked, and Bucky nodded.
"yeah." he said. "i was with them quite a bit, actually."
"what do you remember about them?" he asked, and Bucky swallowed, before squeezing his eyes shut in thought.
"there was a...girl, and a boy." he said hesitantly, and Steve could feel his stomach drop. it couldn't be, could it?
"d-do you remember their names?" he asked, and Bucky nodded.
"Wanda, and Pietro."
