✰ 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: Wanda Maximoff x Thor Odinson x Bucky Barnes x Steve Rogers

✰ 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: parent finding out about their childs death, fluff.

"what?" Steve asked, dumbfounded. "your children's names are Wanda and Pietro?" he asked, and Bucky looked at him, even more confused than before.

"yes, why?" he asked. Steve shook his head, not wanting the thought of his daughter that he was in the process of adopting with Thor being his best friends biological child to take away from what he was supposed to be doing right now.

"nothing." he said, and even though Bucky didn't believe him, he let Steve continue. "how involved in their lives were you?"

Bucky shrugged. "it was off and on. the majority of my involvement was during their baby and toddler years, and then my visits with them got shorter and farther in between them."

"when did they stop?"

"when they were 8."

"did they know you were their biological father?"

"yes." he said, before looking at Steve. "look, Steve, why does any of this matter?"

Steve sighed. he knew he couldn't hide it from him any longer. Thor was supposed to be coming back in a few days, and he knew for a fact that Wanda would recognize him. there was no point in dragging it on if they both were going to find out on their own anyways.

"we found Wanda." he said, and watched as the expression changed on Bucky's face from confusion to hope.

"r-really?" he asked, his hands beginning to shake. "and Pietro?"

Steve swallowed, not making eye contact with Bucky at the mention of the teens name.

"Steve, you found Pietro, right?" Bucky asked, shakily. Steve nodded.

"then why did you just say Wanda?" he asked, and Steve, once again, did not answer. he could hear Bucky's breathing speed up, and could sense him becoming more frustrated, but no matter what he did, what he thought of, Steve couldn't bring himself to say the words 'Pietro is dead.'

"Steve." Bucky said, but Steve kept his eyes locked on the table.

"Steve," he said again, desperation clear in his voice. "what happened to my son?"

Steve blinked back tears, but looked up at his friend. "he uhm-" he stuttered, sniffling, thinking of the teenager who sacrificed himself to save a child. "he didn't make it, Buck." he managed out, and Bucky shook his head in defiance.

"no." he said, voice quivering, eyes swelling with tears as he began to process the information. "no, you're lying."

"Buck, i swear-," Steve began to say, but he was cut off when Bucky stood up from the chair and let it fall backwards and hit floor with a loud clatter.

"Steven Grant Rogers, you better stop lying to me this second, and tell me that my son is still alive! that he's fine, and if i walk out that door he, and my daughter, will be somewhere in this compound!" he shouted, and Steve stood up as well, ready to restrain Bucky if he was sent into a meltdown.

"Bucky, i wish i could. you know that." he said calmly, and Bucky ran his fingers through his hair, tears beginning to drip down his face. he sputtered out a sob, and braced his hands on the table as his knees buckled. "but he was helping us fight Ultron-"

"YOU LET HIM FIGHT?" Bucky shouted, and Steve flinched. "YOU LET MY 16 YEAR OLD CHILDREN FIGHT AGAINST A CRAZY ROBOT MADE OUT OF VIBRANIUM?!" he continued to yell, and Steve sighed, knowing he was right.
