Carson Maddox. . .I knew when I went to rehab there was going to be people like me. People who didn't want to get better. Carson Maddox was one of those people.
The only thing difference about her and those other people was she actually talked to me. She was an open book about her problems.
She was a train wreck and she pulled me on board.
"Rue!"
"Rue!"
Carson ran into Rue's room and jumped onto her bed.
Rue groaned at the red-head who woke her up. The last thing she wanted to do was wake up to realize I'm stuck in hell for another day.
"Go away." Rue huffed as she threw a pillow at the girl, not even looking up.
Carson blew the hair that got in her face from the pillow being thrown at her. "I have something that will cheer that pretty face of yours right up."
Rue couldn't lie. She was interested in what the girl had. She rolled over and sat up on her bed.
Carson waved a little baggy of white powder in front of her face, with a devious grin on her face.
"Where the hell did you get that?!" Rue's eyes widen. She had no idea where that girl could've snuck in drugs. This placed checked everything and everywhere.
Carson laughed at how freaked out Rue looked. "I have my secrets." Carson winked.
"I'm not doing that shit. I want to get the hell out of here." Rue told the girl as she rolled out of her bed and towards the small closest that she had her clothes in.
"You're leaving in two days. This is a going away present for when you finally get out." Carson admitted.
Carson was definitely upset that her one and only friend was leaving her in this shit hole alone. Carson still had a few weeks left, while Rue had two days left.
Rue sighed as she turned around to see the girls features sadden. "Thank you."
Carson smiled softly as she watched the brunette come over and grab the bag out of her small hand.
"Where the hell am I going to hid this? My mom is going to raid my stuff before she lets me back in." Rue told her friend as she paced back and forth trying to think of a spot.
"Here." Carson stood up on the floor and took off the heart locket that she always kept on her neck. Rue never even saw the girl without it.
Rue shook her head multi times back and forth. "I can't take that."
"Yes you can. Maybe you can give it back to me one day." Carson smiled sadly knowing that she would probably never see the girl again.
"Look." Carson open her locket to show it's just a heart shaped mirror on both sides, but she open up the right side to show a secret department.
Rue's eyes widen in amazement. "Holy shit."
"Right!" Carson laughed and stood behind her friend.
Rue took that as a sign to move her curly hair to the side.
Carson brought the necklace around Rue's neck and clasped the ends, letting the necklace fall right below her collarbone.
Rue let go of her hair and looked down at the locket. She picked it up and played with it for a moment, just thinking about the first time she saw it around Carson's neck.
"I'm going to miss you." Rue let go of the locket and turned around to face her friend.
"Me too." Carson grabbed both of Rue's hands and squeezed them softly causing Rue to smile sadly.
"I'll see you again Rue Bennett."
I never believed the girls words until I saw her talking to Maddy Perez in the same hallways that I was very familiar with.
We locked eyes, but I was the one to look away and continue walking like I never saw her. To be honest my heart was fucking racing. I just wanted to go up and hug her, but the other part of me knows I'm better off without her.
I found someone.
Someone that I love.
