Oscar never liked his father. He grew up having to have the perfect image, he couldn't even have a normal childhood. He always felt like he didn't belong in his messed up family. He saw how it ruined Carson, he didn't even feel like she noticed him.
The only time Oscar felt like he belonged was when Carson treated him like a person. She would always make sure he was okay after their dad yelled at him for something stupid.
But the older Carson got the more addicted to drugs she got. It was literally taking over her life and she had no control what so ever.
Their mom just didn't have a life of her own. She just took their fathers side even if he was wrong. Neither Oscar or Carson cared for their mom and wouldn't care if she up and left.
She has so many times to prove that she loved her kids and every time she only showed that she would stand in her husbands corner.
When Oscar met Gia, he felt alive again for the first time in a long time.
It was like he had something to look forward too everyday. He knew that he wouldn't be able to see her all the time, but he made sure to text her and sometimes FaceTime her when he wasn't nervous.
Their connection only got better because of Carson. She didn't mean to push them closer together, but what she did scared them.
"This is so stupid!" Gia laughed as she watched Oscar sketch her in a sitting position with her hand resting on her cheek.
"Trust me. You're going to be surprised." Oscar smiled as he glanced up at Gia, before sketching her beautiful smile that he loved looking at.
"It's been two hours." Gia reminded how long she's been sitting still, but she didn't hear a response.
When Gia looked at Oscar she saw how his tongue was on sticking out to show just how concentrated he was.
"And. . ." Oscar spoke as he did some last touch ups.
"Done!" Oscar threw down his pencil and ripped out the paper from his sketch book.
"Let me see!" Gia got up from her spot and went to grab the drawing when Oscar held it up.
"Oscar!" Gia exclaimed as he was taller than her and made it impossible for her to grab his drawing of her.
Oscar grinned down at the brunette and laughed as she tried to jump up and grab it.
"I hate you." Gia pushed him softly, but when she did he grabbed her arm causing her to stop.
