Julietas' POV
It has been 15 years since my child's' disappearance, we've stopped searching for her. But I can't help but feel strong pain. Today would have been her birthday, making her the same age as Camilo. I hold back tears I can't cry. I must stay strong for our family. It's just, so many things have been going on, two years my mother passed away and I get so emotional now at the slightest things. I look down and sigh. I hear my love step into the room. "Oh, Julieta... I know how you feel today. Today marks our lost daughter's 15th birthday," He states, as he walked over to me. "Yes," I feel a tear run down my face. He wipes the tear-off of me and turns my face to look at him. "We have called off all searches for her, it's time we let her go, Mi Amor," He says, I nod. I hold onto him and look around. I stand up and look at the door. "I'll get going, Mi Amor, I have some stuff to be doing," I say, he nods.
Camilos' POV
I see tia Julieta with a teary face and puffy eyes. had she been crying. "Tia Julieta?" I call out to her, her eyes trail over to me and she smiles. "Yes?" She asks. "Well, were you crying because it looks like you have been," I ask, she worriedly looks around and then sighs. "Yes, I have," She says, walking over to me. "Why?" I ask, this day everyone seems so sad. Including my parents. "Well, Camilo there's someone we've never let you know about," She says, grabbing my hand. "Come with me, sobrino," I nod and come with her to the tapestry room. "Tia, I've been here many times," She nods. "But, you've never seen this room," She open a door to a secret room with one gigantic tapestry. I look it up and down to see its Tia Julieta and Tio Augustin holding a baby. "Is the Isabela or Luisa? If so, she sure looks different," I comment, Tia lets out a small hum no. "Then, who?" I ask. "That is your missing cousin, Mirabel," She states. "Woah, woah woah. Was that the girl you called off the search for?" I ask, she nods. "I love her so much, but it's time I let go," She sighs, I nod. "Well, she was a cute baby," I comment. "Mhm," Tia Julieta hums. "The reason everyone is so sad today is because well, she'd be turning the same age as you today," I look at her. "Really?" I ask, she nods.
"That's crazy, how come I never knew?" I ask. "Because she was taken a few days after birth and as you grew up, nobody wanted to worry you at such a young age, we called off the search five years ago," She states. "Oh," I say. "So, there's your answer, Camilo," She smiles sadly. I sigh and turn around. "I'm going for a horse ride," I say, walking away. "Okay, sobrino. Be careful!" She reminds me. I hum in return a begin to walk outside. I walk to the stables and walk over to my horse. I untie the rope that is holding him to the stables. "Lets go, girl. To the forest," I direct her. We stroll through the forest until I hear rustling in the bushes. I get off my horse and look ah her. "Stay here, Norah," I say, walking over to the noise. When I manage to make my way through the bushes I am surprised to be greeted by a young girl, looking around my age playing with rabbits. Her hairs a dark brown and its very curly. Like mine. an her skin is a light brown color. She looks at me and pulls out a pocket knife, holding it to my neck. "Who are you and state your business here!" She says, her voice is rather kind sounding to be threatening me with a knife. Her voice also makes it difficult to be afraid of her. "I am prince Camilo Madrigal, I was just strolling down the forest until I heard rustling coming from over here," I state, hoping she will put down the knife. "Mhm," She says, putting down her knife, retracting it and putting it in her pocket.
"Well then, prince Camilo, you are free to leave now," She says. I raise an eyebrow. "And what if I don't?" She smiles. "I'll slit your throat wide open, now go," She points to the exit. Only now did I realize the color of her eyes. They're a reddish-brown color. Much like the lost Mirabel's eye color. "Awh, come on. Don't you want a little company? It must be pretty lonely here," I say, she sighs. "It is not! I have my mother here and that's all that matters," She says. I look at her. "At least tell me your name?" She looks at me and sighs. "Will you leave then?" She asks, I nod. "Mira, that's my name," She responds. "Well, Mira I will drop by to visit tomorrow," I smile, walking away. "Don't count on me being outside!" She shouts. "Well it would be a disappointment if you won't be!" I shout back, getting on my horse. I turn her around and head back to the village. I put the horse back into the stables. "Bye, Norah," I say walking away from the stables and into my room. "Camilo! What were you doing out so late?" Asks my mother, "I was busy with something in the forest," I say. 'More like someone' I think to myself. "Well come on! Dinner is ready!" I hum in return and sit up. I walk out of my room and go to the dinner table where dinner is served. "How was the forest, sobrino?" Tia Julieta asks. "Good, I made a friend," I say, she hums. "Well that's delightful," I nod and continue eating. "Thanks for the food, Tia Julieta!" I thank her, she smiles. "Of course!"
