Mirabels' POV

I yawn and sit up from my deep slumber and hop off of my bed. I walk over to my wardrobe and grab a plain white long-sleeved shirt with dark blue jeans and black boots with a black jacket as well. I walk to the bathing room and prepare myself to bathe. As soon as I step into the tub, I hear mothers call.  "Mirabel, honey! Breakfast is on the table!" I sigh in a calm-nice way and smile. "I'll be there in a moment!" I call back out to her, cleanse my body, and quickly stepping out of the tub. I dry myself and put on my outfit. I grab a brush, brush out my hair, and put it in a half up half down formation. I walk out of the bathroom into the dining room where I began to eat. "Oh wow, this is really good! Thanks, mama!" I smile as I finish up the last few bites of my meal. "Thank you, Hunny," She says. I smile and nod. "What time is it about?" I ask she looks over to a clock. "9:17 am." I smile and begin to walk outside. "Thanks!" On my way out I grab a couple of carrots. I walk over to the rabbits and kneel down. "Hey, it's okay, no need to be afraid. Shh, here," I hold out my carrots and watch as the jump around and nibble on the food, I smile.

I manage to get close enough to pet one of them. "You are so cute, but you don't have a name, huh?" I look up and back down to the small rabbit Infront of me. "How about athena? Do you like that?" I ask, the rabbit just hops so I assume so. I smile until I hear a branch break. I look over to where the noise came from and there stands Camilo. "Oh, you again," I complain. He just smiles. "You'd bet. You aren't getting away from me that easily. And plus I thought you said you wouldn't be outside?" I sigh. "You got lucky. And if my mom catches you out here, you'll be turned into a pastel de olla humana(Human pot pie)," He sighs. "Then, come with me! I'll take you to my home and you can meet my familia!" I shake my head. "Then where can we go where your mom won't catch us?" He asks, I look up. "I know a place but you owe me," I shake my finger at him. He nods. "Got it! Name what you want and it's yours," He says cockily. I sigh. "I'll tell ya later," I respond to him, walking over to my home,  I signal for him to hide and he nods. "Mija, who were you talking to?" Mother asks, I awkwardly smile. "Nobody! Anyways I'm going to head to the meadow I'll be back in a few!" I shout. She hums a yes response and I walk over to where Camilo is. "Your hiding skills suck ass," I comment, he sighs. "I know," He stands up, I grab his hand and walk out until I bump into something and fall. I open my eyes to see a horse.

"Looks like you've been greeted by Norah, hop on!" He says, I shake my head. "Why not?" He asks. "One I can't ride, two I don't trust you, and three I'm too short to get on!" I respond to him. He does nothing but let out a small laugh and get on the horse. He lends out a hand. "I can help teach you," He says kindly. I sigh and take his hand he pulls me onto the horse and I almost fall. "Woah there," He says, holding onto my waist. I turn to look at him. "If I fall and die because of you, you're paying for my funeral," I say to him, turning my head back. "You won't die from falling, the worst you would do is break a nail," He says in return. "Now," He grabs my arms. "You pick up the rope and lean forward to move forward, lean left to go left, lean right to go right, and pull back to turn around," He says, I nod. I lean forward, then left, then left, then forward. I hop off and stumble on my own feet. I catch myself and look over to Camilo. "This place is beautiful, do you come here often?" He asks, I nod. "I like the animals here, they're peaceful and quiet, unlike someone here," I elbow him then I go over to my usual spot to sit down. He follows and sits down right next to me.

"Does, I mean... Have you ever taken anyone here?" He asks, I shake my head. "Mama takes me here sometimes though, this is one of her favorite spots. And one of the only areas she trusts me alone in," I look over to him. "You know, I'd be grounded for months if I am caught with you, especially here," I say, looks over to me, brushing some hair out of his face. "Why?" He asks, I look over and up at the sky and sigh. "She believes everyone from that village will take me from her," I respond. He laughs. "What? It's not like you're the lost princess," I look over to him and raise an eyebrow. "There's a lost princess?" I ask, he nods. "Yeah, she's my cousin. She was taken at birth, her names Mirabel," I barely restrain my gasp. Mirabel is my full name. What a coincidence. "Wow," I say. "Well I'm surprised you never heard of her, Mira," I nod. "I am too," I hear walking noises coming from the meadows entrance. "Hide. And hide your horse too!" I whisper-shout. He nods and takes his horse and himself into the forest. I then see my mother appear from the turning area. "Dear, who were you speaking with?" She asks, a rabbit is conveniently next to me so I lie. "This rabbit, I named her galincea," I say, "Oh?" She says, I nod and hum in return. She sits down and we talk for a bit

TIMESKIP: AFTER THE MOM FULLY LEFT

I check to make sure my moms gone and signal for Camilo to come, he comes back out with his horse. He looks at his watch and then the sky. "Shoot, It's getting dark, I must go, Mira. Goodbye!" I smile and wave. "Goodbye."
