The Shadow Command (A Nico di Angelo Fancfiction)

Chapter 6: New Beginnings

(A/N: Also a flashback, but you probably know that)

*Flashback continues*

*Nico's POV*

With that Chaos left, leaving me in the company of five strangers, and one guy who hadn't left yet, but should have.

The guy walked towards the recruits, just like me. I bumped into him when we got to the table, and he glared at me. Now that I looked at him clearly, he looked a lot like Will. Blonde hair, blue eyes. But his eyes told a different story. they were full of hate. Will never looked at me like that. He never looked at anyone like that. Seeing this guy made me miss Will even more, and I fought back the tears that were threatening to spill. I swallowed the lump in my throat and looked at him expectantly. He looked away from me and at the group instead

"You all better vote for me at the contest today." he had a rough voice "Or else......" He left the threat hanging and walked out. I took a deep breath and looked at the others. "Who was he?"

"A b*tch. He's part of the elite team and everyone knows he wants nothing more than to become commander. But everyone's scared of him cause he is truly powerful, so they don't dare to not vote for him." A girl with wavy red hair said. She looked like she was from Earth. Well, that's what I thought until she came around the group of chairs. That's when I realised she had wings. So.....not from Earth. She stuck out her hand and said "Mazera". I shook her hand and replied "Nico", Then I turned to the other four and said, "And you are?"

They all introduced themselves one by one -

Harley - blue and purple skin, claws for fingers and toes, bright red hair (he/him)

Monica - She.....she's a robot. But with a soul......a living soul. Red 'skin', Mechanical dark blue eyes (she/them)

Shefli - Orange skin, is shaped like a ball, has one eye (green), tentacles from the top of their head, four feet, two hands (they/them)

Ravana - Ten heads, twenty hands, two legs...........wow. (he/him)

(So Ravana is from Hindu mythology, cause' I'm Hindu, and I was like why not? He is a mortal king, evil, but still. Let's pretend he's nice. So he's in the book Ramayana. Truth to be told I haven't read Ramayana in 4 years. I do not remember an ounce of it. So....yeah. Hehe. Also none of these people {except Mazera} come up in the story again, so I have no clue why I just gave descriptions)

They then told me what planet they were from -

Harley was from Xtaniya (planet) in the Andromeda Galaxy.

Monica was from Rompót (planet) in the CMD galaxy.

Shefli was from Cygnus A (the galaxy) and lived on Exogíino (the planet).

Mazera was from the Magellanic Clouds (galaxy) and lived on Paraskínia (planet)

Ramayana was from.....Earth. What? I asked him which god he was the son of and he said "I was a mortal king. And I lived amongst the Hindu gods. They don't have children with mortals, thus, there are no demigods." Hindu gods. I would have to research that. I had never heard of them. "Oh. Well I am Nico di Angelo. Also from Earth, in the Milky Way. And, I am a demigod. Son of Hades." They all just nodded and then Mazera offered to lead me up to our quarters. Which reminded me "Mazera, you sure know a lot about this place. How long have you been here?"

"Oh, like 2 decades"

I stared at her gobsmacked. Wha- "How are you still in the new recruits then?"

"Well, everyone has to train for at least two to three decades before they get into one of the levels."

"Oh, does everyone immediately get put in Delta"

"No, you will be tested and then Chaos will determine which level to put you in. Although, yes, most people do get put in Delta, it isn't uncommon for people to be in Gamma. Beta meanwhile, people don't usually get put in straight out of basic training. It has happened, but very few times. Nobody, and I mean nobody, has ever been put in Alpha without going through one of the other levels. It's simply impossible to go there straight out of basic training."

"Right, thanks."

"No problem" she finished.

*Flashback ends*

*Present (300 years later)*

It's time. I can do this. I know I can

280 years ago, I got put in Alpha, after I finished basic training for 20 years. I know it's never happened. It had never happened before I came to Nebula and it hasn't happened since I got into Alpha. But, there's always time for a change. I fought my way to the top of Alpha and now I'm the commander. But nothing could prepare me for this. For the thing that every single person in the hall right now wants.

The Elite Team retired. And now it's time for a new generation to take over.

(A/N: 850 words! Hello fellas. How are you doing? Nico has done it. He has made it to Alpha. And now it is time to make the Elite Team! But can he do it? Can he? CAN HE??!
