    angst to fluff

          You and Diluc were sitting at the table, eating in absolute silence. This is how things usually played out after an argument. You would go to say something but then lose all confidence before getting any words out.

          Today's argument was about a letter you found in Dilucs study. While taking a package to  his study, you found a note from Donna, the flower girl. It was a love letter. It was so cliche, it was cringe.Its not like you havent had an argument like this before. You were just tired of crying yourself to sleep.

          The silence continued until you finally stood up to put your dish in the sink. Being the hot housewife you were, you began to wash the dishes. Diluc soon came to put his dish into the sink as well.

          Glaring at him, you took his dish out and set it on the counter beside the sink. "Wash it your self" You said as you turned the water off. "And while youre at it, wash the rest of them. Im leaving." You dried your hands and walked upstairs to change into something cute, but comfortable.

          "Where are you going?" he said, following you upstairs, to which you shut and locked the door before he could enter. "Its none of your business." 

           After getting dressed you walked to the door with nothing but (Your weapon of choice) and enough mora to last you through the night. "At least tell me who you're going with" you looked back at him "It shouldnt matter. Besides, you and Donna have fun when im not around, so why cant I"

           Before he could stop you, you walked out. The fun you had in mind  wasnt cheating on him. It was drinking with the Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonious and your favorite tone-deaf bard.

          Once you found them both you started drinking away. After a few hours of drinking, you all were absolutely wasted. Venti was passed out on the bar, Kaeya was getting up leave before he blacked out, and you were sobbing uncontrollably.

          Usually when you got wasted lie this you were all giggly, happy, and clingy. Diluc always said you looked adorable like that. Well, he used to anyway. You were still clingy now, but your giggles and smiles were replaced with sobs.   

           "You alright there, [Y/N]?" Charles asked from behind the counter. Your continuous sob was enough of an answer for him. "Is it Diluc again?"

           Deciding to give an actual answer, you nodded. Charles sighed and came from behind the counter to sit beside you.       

          "He's always so busy!" a small hiccup cut you off before you continued speaking. "A-and hes getting these love letters! Thats not even the worse part.....he doesnt get rid of them!" You had another hiccup.

          Charles would smile a bit." Surely he doesnt mean it like that. Maybe if he hears your side he'll understand." Charles placed a hand on your back, almost in a consoling way.  "That would be nice....but l-like I said...." you hiccuped "Hes always too busy..." You placed your head on the bar.

          Taking it quite literally, Charles went to find Diluc. He was at the winery, filling paperwork for another large shipment.

          Charles would soon come back with a confused look on his face, at least  until he saw you. You looked over at him lazily, almost with a scowl on your face. Diluc now looked more worried than confused. He would slowly walk over to you, sitting on the stool that Charles was in before he left.

          "You really have been taking it hard, havent you?" You nodded at him, now with a saddened expression on your face. You slowly sat up, burying your face into Dilucs chest.

          Diluc wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into a tight embrace. He then looked over to Charles for an explanation.

          "They're just confused" It took Diluc a second before realizing what you were confused about.

         "[Y/N]...I've been busy lately because of the large number of shipments we've been having lately. And the letter..." he sighed before continuing. "The only reason i keep them is for anger management...I burn them when im frustrated. It helps me with....issues."

         You looked up at him "Really?"

         He smiled a bit and wiped away one of your stray tears. "Of course" he leaned down and kissed your forehead.

         "Im sorry for making assumptions... I really didnt know..." You shoved your face into his chest. He let out a small chuckle "Theres no need for you to apologize , its not your fault."

          He thanked Charles before picking you up bridal style and taking you home. There, he sobered you up and the 2 of you cuddled to sleep. Thats the first time you 2 have done that in months. From now on, things wouldnt be so emotionally draining while you were around Diluc.
