I lay in my bed, on my phone browsing Instagram pictures when my mom popped her head in and told me to get ready.
"Ok," I reply. "Where are we going first?"
"The grocery store, honey."
I sigh. My mom chuckles a little and says "No worries, sweets, we're going shopping for school supplies right after."
I smile with her and apply some eyeshadow. Very light pink only, because eyeliner makes me look sad, and although I suffer severe cancer, I go back to school next week. I get to make friends! This is a big deal!
my mom calls out,
"Kids, Time to go! Hurry up guys!"
My older brother rushes ahead of me down the stairs to the car.
"SHOTGUN!" Brian calls out. He always does this to annoy me, but I love it. If I hate anything, it's pity, and Brian gives me none at all.
We buckle up and mom takes us to the grocery store. BORING. She allowed us to go off and look at things together as long as we didn't lose each other. As I begin to walk to the flower section to pick out a plant for my room, Brian walks to the bacon section with the meat. I try to pull him away, but when Brian sees bacon there's no pulling away unless you buy some. Eventually I got him to look away and we look at some flowers, Well, I did. Brian just stared at his phone the whole time. Mom finally met us there and we helped her check out. As we got into the car mom says,
"Now here we go to make Sarah's dreams come true!"
