Becca: "Ok, Losers, Listen up. You guys are nothing, We are important here. You need to back away slowly and step away. I fear of something going wrong with traditional science and you becoming popular."
Me: "Oh, you fear us? You should. Look Becca, Lets be friends, If you can take the responsibility."
Becca: "Oh, Baldie over here has a mouth, huh?"
That froze me up. Nobody spoke. Nobody said a word. Becca had gone too far. I was NOT ready to tell the school I was dying, so I played it off as cool as I could, even though I was choking up.
Me: " That was really mean, Becca. I don't even know what I did." I was trying so hard to keep the tears in my eyes, and I managed.
Claire: "LOOK BECCA, ITS THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. YOU SHOULD FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO OTHER THAN WASTE YOUR TIME RUINING OUR LIVES. WE ARE BOTH BEAUTIFUL. WE KNOW IT. SO IF YOU WOULD KINDLY LEAVE, AND QUIT WITH THE NAME CALLING, THERE DOESNT HAVE TO BE A PROBLEM."
I smiled. And a tear rolled down my cheek, but of happiness, not sadness. I hugged Claire so tight, I'm surprised she didn't pop.
Me: "Claire, You are my very best friend."
Claire: "You too, Kaitlin."
Becca: *fake gags*
"Later, Losers."
