I hear my favorite song play. One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" comes blasting through my phone. I sit up, alarmed, and then turn off the alarm. I yawn and stretch my arms in an upward position. Then I lay back down to go to sleep. I yawn again, and rest my head on my warm pillow.
I start to close my eyes until I realize,
"THERE'S SCHOOL TODAY" I realized I actually screamed that, instead of thinking it, so I quickly cover my mouth. I make the "Opps, That was really loud and if my mom heard that, I'm dead," face. Unfortunately, my mom heard me.

"KAITLIN IS THAT YOU?"

"YES MOM, SORRY!"
Then Brian woke up.

"SHUT UP!"

I realize we all sound silly, and I laugh a little. Then I focus again.

"School, Right."

I grin and head to my vanity. I start with my makeup. It looks better than it usually does today, perfect! I smile and look at my makeup, pretty proud of myself. I take some hair product and gently style my short-ish hair.
Then I make my way to my closet and I pick up the hanger with my outfit for today. A floral patterned dress, Tight around my stomach, and loose around my knees and thighs. I add a black small belt and put on white high tops. Very cute!
I finally finish getting ready, and I rush outside to wait for the bus. I pull out my phone and play Flappy Bird. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, crash. I didn't do so good because of all of the butterflies. Finally the bus came around the corner.

Me: "Mom, The bus is here!"
Mom: "Have a great day, Kaitlin! I love you!"
Me: I love you too, Mom!"

The bus comes to my driveway, I hop off the porch and run to catch it. As I step on, I greet the driver.

Me: "Hello, Sir! Thank you for getting me!"
Him: "No problem, Kiddo! I'm Mr. Brown. Who might you be?"
Me: "I'm Kaitlin Bloomsfield. Nice to meet you."

He smiles and I search for a seat. The bus driver was so nice, but the kids were edgy. As I make my way through spitballs, crumpled papers, and screaming kids, I find one reasonable girl. She had Blonde hair, tied in a messy ponytail, but not too messy, just right. She had very pretty hair, and a bow was tied right on top of her ponytail.

Me: "Hi. I- uh I'm Kaitlin. Mind if I sit with you?"
Her: "Of course!", she says clearing off her belongings from the seat. "I'm Claire."
Me: "Oh .. I'm.. I'm Kaitlin."

As the bus left my house she talked about my hair, and complimented me a lot.

Claire: "You are.. Stunning. Seriously. I love your outfit! and your makeup is amazing."
Me: "Thanks." I say, cracking a dorky smile, "Yours too."

Finally we approached the school parking lot. She didn't say much, and she hadn't said much sense we left my house. She seemed a little awkward. She reached into her backpack and pulled out a plastic bag. She reached in the bag and pulled out a bracelet with all clear, gel balls. Except there were two different ones on opposite sides of the bracelet. She hands it to me.

Claire: "This is a Lokai bracelet. The white ball contains water from Mount Everest, and the black ball contains mud from the Dead Sea. So this bracelet has elements from the highest and lowest points of the world. It keeps you balanced."
Me: "For me?"
Claire: "Yup. It's a welcome gift."
Me: "Oh! Thank you. That's actually, very appreciated."

We smiled and I put on my bracelet. It may seem weird, But this bracelet means a lot to me. It was given to me from my new, and first, friend. She didn't know about my Cancer, and for now that's good. I don't want her to pity me or give me special treatment or anything. I don't want her to be worried about me right now.

Claire: "Well, Have a nice day. I will see you during Science, Art, Spanish, and Music."
Me:"Great! Thanks."

We left the bus and went separate directions. I approached my locker, and I opened it. There was a note inside. I picked up the note and curiously opened the envelope. I was very pleased to receive this message...
