Meet some Quintessential student entrepreneurs
1. My name is Mensah Essi Joy A. The name of my business is D Angel's Place we are into fashion
We sell unisex Wears, shoes, hair, etc.
I started this business in year one, the second semester, when things got a bit challenging for me cause I had no one to support me, so I thought about what to do to help myself out. Don't get me wrong, I have a family, but things didn't go as we expected while growing up. I managed to save up a little fund which I used to start up the business; I went to Lagos market to buy a few things. Completely unaware of how things worked there, but the suppliers were happy to enlighten me. When I started, I didn't have a shop; I had to carry my products to girls in the hostel and other places outside the school to make some money. It was highly stressful. The money went to my fees, feeding and rent. I learnt how to manage the little I had, and I was never in a competition with my peers; I just wanted to make a living for myself and take care of my parents. Today I have two business outlets, one in Port Harcourt and the other in Uyo. I attribute all my success to God cause he has backed me right from day one.
I am currently in my final year in the Psychology department, University of uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
My sincere advice to entrepreneurs out there is to keep pushing, do not relent. Your success story is loading. And to intending entrepreneurs, please invest in yourself, learn about the business you want to go into, pray and believe that you can accomplish whatever you set your mind on. I know my story is boring but trust me, it wasn't easy. I am grateful for where I am today. Thank you.🌹
2. My name is Imedara
My business name is Alpha planners. We render all kinds of event planning services.
I started the business to try and get financially independent as school could be demanding.
How I can manage my business is just because I love what I do. So I overlook the stress and challenges. I am a law student at the university of uyo. ✨3. My name is Ekemini jasmine, Christopher. A student of the marketing department at the university of uyo. I am in my final year and the CEO of KEMS INTEGRATED.
The products we offer include:
LIQUID SOAP, GERMICIDE, ANTISEPTIC DISINFECTANT, VASELINE, HAIR CREAM, HAIR SHAMPOO, AIR FRESHENER, BODY SPRAY, OIL PERFUME, TOILET CLEANER, TILE CLEANER, GLASS CLEANER, HAND SANITIZER (GEL &SPRAY), HAND WASH......Why I decided to start this business was to get pocket money for myself in other to meet day to day wants, but then my desire grew. Managing a business alongside the outrageous workload at school hasn't been an easy task. After the day's lecture, I have to run to the market to get chemicals and produce that day to meet up with orders for the next day. In All these, God helped me to manage my time wisely. Although I got lost in d Business, forgetting to read my books, I lost focus at certain times. It wasn't easy, but I got back on track... I set a time for both activities. So as not to lose out on any. My business is still growing, and we hope to be a leading brand in future. 🦋
4. My name is Boreh Edna L., a.k.a Ednacherry, and I'm the CEO of RoyalSpice shawarma.
I was in my 300L when I started my shawarma business, and I'm currently in my finals.
I decided to start the business because of my love for shawarma, and precisely one day, a friend wanted to buy for me, and it wasn't available around my area, so I slept on it and made plans. Most importantly, God gave me men to help.
Combining business and school hasn't been easy, but by God's grace, I've gone a long way.
Firstly, I put someone to oversee the business while I'm away, and the person reports to me. Sometimes there are issues, some people aren't faithful, but I'll manage till the holiday when I can check it myself. I care about the business during the day but not at night because when I read, I take my school as my life depends on it, and that's how it has been. And I also needed to help myself in school too. I love the comfort I'm slowly getting from my job. The business has two outlets now.
Thank you🥰.
