Two students walked by, equally exhausted as the sun sets. "I'm so hungry and tired," Y/n stretched, sweater slightly unbuttoned, though her skin remained unseen by her companion. The sky was hued orange and purple, like a gradient of darkness blanketing the sun to sleep.
Y/n looked at Aether smiling, "Wanna eat something? My treat."
Aether looked at Y/n, wide-eyed.
"Shouldn't I be the one paying?" Y/n grinned, bringing out her wallet fast. "I'm the one who offered, I'll be the only one paying. Consider this a friend thing."
Aether nodded vigorously, having been tired himself. His voice seems to betray him from rehearsal. It amazed almost everyone that he could sound so feminine, that Yunjin was invested into teaching him Liyuen opera, and theater. He had quite the vocal range, when he hasn't invested in vocal lessons. The two entered a park not far away from school, and there were stalls that sell different kinds of food, from skewers to dessert.
Though he was a little happy that Y/n paid, Aether felt himself pout a bit, but he still walked beside Y/n. The word, "friend" was but an itch more than a painful jab to the heart, but not paying hits more. It jostles his heartstrings, only just a little, but he knows not to scratch it out.
Every nasty mosquito bite taught him to resist with a fear that alcohol elicits searing pain to open wounds. He should know well after the many times his twin would spill the disinfectant on every cut and open would, laughing when his face contorts to pain, but it dies down realizing how easily he recovers from scars and scabs. That was somewhat akin to his situation, getting hurt by a one-sided love, with the ending still unknown. To his musings, he forgot about the crepes, and Y/n had been calling him for a few more times.Aether looked at her, embarrassed when she had been snickering.
"I got the crepes," Y/n mused, holding his order on her left hand, and on her right, hers. Aether's hand brushes against hers as he thanks her, and he looks away with a soft blush feeling the softness of her hands. The two sat by the swing. The sky was violet, slowly turning blue. People were slowly flooding out of the sight, until it was just them and a few adults. It was those very late noons or early evening vibes, that made the atmosphere a little tense in terms of ambience.
"So..." Aether looked at Y/n with no thoughts. What could he say, but the warm shade of the setting sun casting plum through the city. "What do you plan on doing tomorrow?"
Y/n looked at the sky, thinking of the things she could do. "Maybe walk around Sumeru. It's been a while since I've taken some pictures." Aether hears 'Sumeru' and realizes that he's never toured the city that much. He never walked the path to Sumeru, and other divisions such as Natlan, Fontaine, Snezhnaya, and Sumeru. So his eyes gleamed intrigued."What is Sumeru like?"
Y/n looked at Aether, and smiled, "There's lots of things in Sumeru that looks mysterious and beautiful... the libraries are big and tall, and the plants are very unique." Y/n reached for Aether's hand, and said, "Let's tour around the city sometime."
