Jung Hoseok
***
Hobi's POV
I gaze over the lush garden as I peacefully sit near the water- fountain, my nose tingling with the smell of moisture in the air. The gentle splashing of water is like music to my ears. So peaceful, but why do I get this feeling as if something is missing? Maybe it's the blooming of the flowers that is missing; maybe it's the moonless sky with twinkling stars, maybe it's the sun. I can't decide and why am feeling so restless I such a peaceful place?
But all these questions clear up as I see Y/N walking towards me. So, she is the piece missing for tranquility. Flowers seem to bloom behind her as she walks by. The dark sky brightens up just a bit. The warmth of the sun follows her.
She stops in front of me and says with mock sternness, "What are you doing here, Jung Hoseok?"
I cheekily reply, "I am resting", as I grin at her.
"You shouldn't be resting alone like this on your birthday, Hobi," she retorts back with a smile. That damn smile. And with that all my tiredness and restlessness just vanishes. Somehow, the garden just seems so beautiful now that it makes me never want to leave.
"You shouldn't be here looking for me, my best-friend must be looking for you," I say, truly happy for what they have.
"Ahh, Yoongi is asleep in the guest bedroom. He drank more than he could handle. I put him to bed."
She sits next to me, leaning on the wall of the water-fountain, looking up at the sky. We sit in silence; no words spoken but I still feel her comfort when she is next to me. She was our junior but became popular because how hardworking and kind she was. Suga and I were co-leading a team of juniors which she was a part of. Over the course of the assignment, three of us became close. Soon, before I could realize, I was in love.
But little did I know that it went down the same way with my best-friend. He fell for her too. A year into the project, the two announced that they are dating. In that moment, I was happy for my brother, but at the same time my heart broke a little. I was truly happy for them, I really was. So, I just smiled, hugged them and kept my mouth shut. What more could I do?
Did I do the right thing? Should I have just told her how I felt? Would this all have been different then? Would this relationship have been worth going through all that? Should I tell her right now? Will she feel the same? Will it all be a disaster?
"I love you, Hobi," she said leaning over and resting her head on my shoulder, as my heart skipped a beat and I was pulled out of my thoughts.
"I love you too, sweet-cheeks," I say, resisting the urge to say more. But as we confessed our different loves to each other near the water-fountain, I just knew that hers was just not the same.
Suddenly, an image of Yoongi and her together, flashed in my mind and all my questions were put to rest. I am glad I never told her how I really felt. This is the perfect relationship we can have with each other. But what if I just-?
