Zack and Angeal, who was still carrying his daughter in his arms who was still unconscious. They heard footsteps behind them and turn to see Director Lazard.
"Sorry to keep you waiting. I'm not use to being on site. ohhh.....is she alright?" said Director Lazard.
"She'll be fine eventually, she a tough kid. And you didn't have to come." Angeal told him.
"This operation will bring an end to the war. I have to see it through personally. SOLDIER 2nd class, Zack." said Director Lazard.
"Sir!" said Zack.
"You performed your duties admirably at Fort Tamblin. I saw it with my own eyes. You and Kairi. Frankly, my evaluation of you both is...you both supported Angeal well by diverting the enemy. An acceptable of work for a 2nd. Be ready for your next assignment." said Director Lazard.
Angeal turned to Zack.
"Zack, do you know the difference between a 2nd and a 1st?" Asked Angeal and Zack shrug his shoulders while shaking his head.
"A SOLDIER 1st class performs above and beyond the call of duty at all times. Remember that. I will speak to Kai once she wakes up." Angeal told him.
Zack nod.
"Now let's hurry. Sephiroth is waiting." said Angeal.
"Sephiroth the SOLDIER hero?! Wow, I get to meet a hero!" said Zack excitedly.
then some mysterious enemy showed up which Zack took down.
"Zack, hurry up!" said Angeal, when he caught up to them, he saw kairi lying on the ground as Angeal put away hid sword, and more of the mysterious enemy showed up.
"Take the director to a safe place." said Angeal.
"Then contact Sephiroth!" said Director Lazard.
"Zack is more than enough." said Angeal.
"what about kai?" asked Zack.
"come back for he-us." he told him.
"all right, Director, follow me." said Zack and they ran.
Angeal finished fighting the enemy and knelt down to his daughter, tears in the strong man's eyes.
"i'm so sorry, sweetheart, i love you." he told her and kiss her head and walked away, seeing the person he was looking for.
Zack and director Lazard run deeper into the forest until two 3rd class SOLDIERs came to them.
"Thank goodness you're safe, Director Lazard!" said a 3rd Class.
"I should be fine now, Zack. Go and assist Angeal." said Director Lazard.
"I know, i know!" said Zack and sprint off in their direction, to find him missing and kairi on the ground, still unconscious.
he check out the other enemy, getting a good look at them.
"what? These guys aren't Wutai troops." said Zack, and then he saw a ball in the air and an ifrit sommon.
"A summon? who called it out?!" asked zack and got his sword and fought it, and the ifrit fell down eventually, and he put his sword back on his back, looking around, and then it got back up and threw a fireball at him.
but it never came, so he looked up to see a man with long sliver hair, black cloat and a long sword.
Sephiroth, the SOLDIER hero, Kairi's god-father.
Sephiroth end the summon.
"holy...." said Zack, and sephiroth went to kairi placing a hand on her forehead, she has a high fever. And he went to remove the helmets off the mysterious enemy to see Genesis face.
"Genesis..." said Sephiroth.
"The missing SOLDIER 1st class?" asked Zack in shock.
and he pull of the helmet off the other one, same thing.
"They're identical." said zack.
"A Genesis copy..." said sephiroth.
"A copy? a human copy?" asked Zack.
Then sephiroth got up and knelt down to his god-child.
"what has happened to little kai?" he asked.
"Some guy name Billy had hurt her, he was giving her a beaten." said Zack.
"Where is Angeal?" asked Sephiroth as he picked up Kairi into his arms.
"I thought he was fighting around here somewhere." said Zack looking around.
"Hump. So, he's gone, too. Little kai is going to be upset." he said.
"What? Wait, what does that mean?" asked Zack.
"It means Angeal has betrayed us as well." said Sephiroth not looking away from kairi's bruised face.
"no way! I know what kind of guy Angeal is, and he'd never do that!" said ZAck and he turn around.
"Angeal would never betray us! never! he would never hurt Kairi like that! never!" shouted Zack.
kairi whimper.
"we need to go. Kairi needs medical help." said Sephiroth.
A few hours later, Kairi opened her blue eyes, feeling a tube in her nose to help her breath, and soft beepings.
"child." said Sephiroth.
"uncle....Seph?" she asked.
"yes, little kai. it's me." said sephiroth.
"heeey! welcome back to the land of the living!" said zack, and she gave a weak smile.
"where's.....daddy?" asked Kairi weakly.
Sephiroth sighed.
"he's away for a while, sweet child." he told her.
she give a weak nod.
"kay..." she said weakly.
"but he wants you to rest and get better." he told her and she nod weakly.
"stay, uncle seph?" she asked weakly.
"of course, sweet child. Get some rest." he said and she nod a let unconscious take her again.
"you had to lie to her?" asked Zack.
"she's too ill to deal with this, i'll tell her once she's a bit stronger." said Sephiroth.
three weeks later.
kairi was sitting by her window, holding her soft bunny rabbit that Angeal had got her for her birthday all those years ago, missing him.
then she heard the door open and she looked to see Sephiroth.
"Sweet child, please, don't mope." he said.
"when is Daddy coming back, uncle seph?" asked Kairi.
he sighed. "Angeal isn't coming back, little kai." he said.
"wha? why? what do you mean?" she asked hugging her rabbit.
"he's .... Angeal has left us.. i'm sorry." he said and she start to cry and he held her letting her cry herself to sleep, hoping he has done the right thing.
