A Year at Hogwarts

Chapter 1: A Journey Begins

Angel's POV

I wave goodbye to my parents as my siblings and I hop onto the Hogwarts Express, searching for an empty compartment to sit in. While on the hunt, I accidentally bump into a certain brown-haired witch.

"I'm so sorry about that, miss," I apologize.

"Don't worry about it," she replies. "I was actually on my way back to my compartment. Would you like to come with me?"

"Certainly! I'm sure my siblings can handle themselves without me. Besides, what's the worst that could happen?" I answer enthusiastically, following the young witch to her shared compartment with her friends.

A little while later, we finally arrived at the compartment. "Hey guys, I'm back. I brought someone with me," the young witch says. "Why don't you introduce yourself?"

"Ok. Well, I'm Angel May. I have two sisters and an older brother. They came along with me to join me during my time at Hogwarts. Hopefully, I'll become the best of friends with you guys," I reply.

"Well, I'm Hermione Granger, that's Ron Weasley, and that right there is Harry Potter," Hermione says, pointing to each of them.

"H-Harry P-Potter? THE Harry Potter? As in the one who has a lightning bolt on his forehead?" I freak out, realizing that I am riding the same train as Harry Potter.

After a while, I calmed down. "Well, this certainly is going to be a good year."

A little while later, we get off the train and onto carriages to go to Hogwarts.

"Everyone, this is Loony Love...Luna Lovegood. So, Angel," Hermione turns to me. "What made you want to switch to Hogwarts?"

"I was at Ilvermorny for four years, but I've heard Hogwarts is better," I answer.

"So, you're a transfer student. That sounds...interesting," Hermione eyes me.

"What's Ilvermorny like?" Neville asks, evidently curious.

"Well... I was in Pukwudgie. I had lots of amazing friends, and I loved Charms, Potions, D.A.D.A, and Care for Magical Creatures. Care for Magical Creatures was my absolute favorite though!" I giggle. "But I heard there are more choices here, so I wanted to try it out for a little while!"

Luna's necklace catches my attention. "Hey Luna, your necklace is nice. Where'd you get it?" I ask, pointing to the pretty necklace.

"It's a charm actually. Keeps away the nargles," Luna says. "I'm hungry. I hope there's pudding."

We finally arrive at Hogwarts and head into the Great Hall. I sit with them until I am called to get sorted.

"Everyone, we have a new student joining us. Please put your hands together in welcoming Ms. May! Ms. May, if you would, please come up here to be sorted," Dumbledore says as everyone claps.

I go up to the sorting hat to be sorted into my perspective house.

"Hmm...I see...yes. Kind, hardworking, caring. Better be...Hufflepuff!" The Sorting Hat yells out as the Hufflepuff table claps for me as I go to sit down with them.

My siblings head over to be sorted into Hufflepuff along with me. "Alex, Amber, Ava, come!" I say as we walk over to the Hufflepuff table.

"Now that they have been sorted, let the feast begin!" Dumbledore says, proudly. The students begin eating and talking to their friends.

"So, siblings, I met some new friends earlier when we were on the train headed here and when we were on the carriages," I say.

"Oh, did you now?" Alex replies.

"Yeah, I definitely did. They call themselves the Golden Trio or at least that's what I think. They said their names were Hermione, Ron, and Harry." I replied back. "There's also Luna and Neville."

"Oh, well that's...exciting," he says.

"Yeah, totally!" Amber and Ava agree.

"Well, we better finish eating so that we can go see our house's common room and dorms," I say, surely.

After everyone is sorted and the welcoming feast is over, Dumbledore announces that it is time for bed, so everyone heads back to their respective house common rooms and dorms.

Once I got to the dorms, which I was in awe of the beauty of the common room, I chose my bed and fell fast asleep.
