Chapter 2

Scarlet woke up the next morning with a major headache.
"God what the hell happened last night." She found herself in her bed with an empty bottle of vodka on her lamp desk and a note from Tommy

Hey great work last night you had both of those blokes drooling over you! Here's the cash reward for doing the job thanks for the help toots!

The memories flooded back from last night realizing why she drank so much. She hated doing jobs like that but that's how she grew up.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the phone ringing.
"Hello."
"Yes Ms. Scarlet your cab will be outside in ten minutes."

"Shit, yes thank you for calling me"

She got up quickly and got ready it was her first day on the job after all. She wore a tight black dress that complimented her body shape very well she set her wavy brown hair into half a pony tail and wore mascara with red lipstick. The last thing she always wore to complete her outfit was her pin but where did she place it. She tried to remember where was the last place she set it. She thought back to the robbery but all she remeberd were these peircing green eyes.
"Shit I'm gonna be late." Scarlet never left without her pin and she wasn't going to today.

She calls Tommy to see if she left it in his car.

"Tommy is my mother's pin in your car?"

"Why does it matter Toots its just a pin I'm not at my car now and I'm not going to check" he said in a short tempered tone

"Fine then I just won't go out today I'll stay home until I find it"

"I wouldnt do that hun you know the boss wants u to do a job from the inside and we both know today is your first day. So get to it."

She felt broken she never left without her pin and becuase she did the stupid job she lost it. She sucked it up and went downstairs.

She knew how important it was for her to gain the trust from the man in charge of the accounts in order for her to access the codes from the inside.
"I'm getting tired of this shit" she mumbled to herself while getting in the cab.

"Where to Ms."

"Broadway and 4th. Bates Industry."

"Welcome Ms. James I'm glad you have decided to commit to this company. Now I will direct you to your cubicle. Don't worry you will receive an office but its policy for the employee to prove their loyalty which I know you will have no trouble in doing." He said guiding her into the elevator

This was not what she hoped for since she would be under a magnifying glass for a few months to prove her loyalty. She shook the thought and put on a smile

"Now Ms. James I know I gave you the job I'm the head executive but you will not be working for me as I said before. You will have to answer to my right hand man. " He said as they walked by a few offices.

"Styles." He said tapping on the door

They entered the very large office and she saw a tall man with his back toward her and a phone to his ear. He had lucious brown locks and had broad shoulders. He was wearing a slim fit blazer and slacks.

"Styles." Mr. Peters spoke again. As if on que the tall man turned around and spoke.

"Sorry about that Scott. Important call. We have a deadline to make as you know. " He said, he began to ramble and Scarlet couldnt help but feel she knew this man she had just seen seconds ago. Her thoughts were cut off when he spoke
"I'm sorry I'm rambling on. So who are you may I ask love?"

"Styles this is Ms.Scarlet James I recently hired her and she will be under your watch. You know the drill show her the ropes."

"Lovely to meet you." He said with a smile and extended it out to her.

She finally made eye contact with him for the first time and when she looked at him she saw those peircing emerald eyes of his. That was the man from last night.

"Like wise." She said with a fake smile

"I will leave you to it." Mr. Peters said breaking the silence
He smiled and exited the room, leaving them in silence.

"So Ms. Scarlet James I'm as you know the head executive of this floor. I'm Harry Styles. But everyone who works for me call Mr. Styles. I'm sure if you do everything I tell you then you will succeed. "

He walked out of his office and she followed. As he gave her the tour of the floor.
"Now Ms. James if you need anything I'm only a foot away from your work space. " He walked toward his office and before he closed the door he looked at her and said
"Welcome to Bates Industry love." And with that he smiled and closed his door.
Scarlet found him very unusual but charming. He closed the door as if he had privacy when in fact he had full glass walls. His office was complete exposed.

Her thoughts were interupted again by a young man who looked about her age blonde hair brown eyes fare skin in a blue suit looking down upon her.
"Hello Miss your new. I'm Daniel but all the ladies on the floor call me Danny " He said in a thick Australian accent.

"Thank you for that introduction now I must be returning to my work good bye Daniel."

Harry looked up to see Daniel already hitting on the new girl. Of course he knew why. Scarlet was beautiful but she gave off a sense of confidence toward him. She didn't seem like every woman on the floor to be easily swung by Daniel Rogers.

He decided ten minutes had been enough for Scarlet to handle Daniel so he calls her in.

"Ms. James I have filings that must be sent out today at 6 can you do that."

"Yeah of course." She said walking out.

"Oh and one more thing love." Harry said," I'm not like most head executives I like to have an environment where everyone is comfortable."

"Yeah smooth Daniel over there a little to comfortabe."
He smirked and ignored the comment
" So when a new member of the team is added I throw a small office party as a warm welcoming. So swing by my office after your hours."

She never cared for people much she simply lived her life. But something about this Harry character she couldn't help but get a warm feeling. She questioned if anyone could possibly be genuinely kind. She didn't want to think to much of it and with that she dove into her work.
