Anaya was sufficient for herself when it came to her carrier and professional life, those proud, impressive, jealous and many more adjectives' look people passed her were enough proof for that.
But when it came to personal life she was not sure and she was not very keen on doing that but that scratchy feeling which pokes her at some rare moments were more than enough to leave her over thinking things she probably shouldn't or maybe she should.
Looking at the couple dancing to the soft and rhythmic tunes of the song playing in the background lost in each other unaware of the nagging world.
Not one but two!
Does she crave for this?Maybe or maybe something different. She is not sure.
Her parents were a typical couple tied by an arrange marriage, stood by each other in the tough times but was it the best relationship to look up to?No.
Her grandparents were no less.
She does not expect things to go all fairytale types like the couples in front of her one being childhood sweethearts and the other who had a passionate love after they met on a hiking trip, kissed and turned out to be family friends when they never expected to meet each other.Irony being that they never knew each other's names till they met for a marriage arrangement set by their respective parents.
But yeah! something close to it won't do any harm if that happens in any case!
"Aap akele baithe baithe kya soch rahi hain."
She gasped in surprise with the warm air which caressed her left ear with the words and her hand made its way to her heart.
He chuckled and took a seat beside her.
"Nothing just.. By the way your hindi is pretty good for you to be a NRI."she left the former sentence for him fill it up on his own.
"Aapne hamare sawal ka jawaab nahi diya."But he was adamant to know the answer to his question.
She sighed"I don't usually share my thoughts with people."
"Personal thoughts I guess as professional ones are ought to be shared in your case."
She craned her neck in his direction to witness his neutral face and smiled"you seem to have developed a lot of assumptions about me."
He extended his palm in front of her"care for a dance."
She slided her hand in his' taking him by surprise this time.
"Tell me then,is the assumption correct or am I the one who is thinking in the wrong way."he set his hand on her back holding her left hand in a decent grip with her other hand on his shoulder.
They moved in and out of the rhythm of the song"partially you are but the only thoughts I deem necessary for the other person to hear up on reach them and the other thoughts remain with me."
"Then the only people who have a contract with your company clears the eligibility criteria to hear out your thoughts."
She now knew he is just playing foul but things are actually otherwise"No the person who clears the criteria is decided by me not just by any contract."
"And what is the eligibility criteria to hear your personal thoughts."His tone totally different from all the ones he had used till date with her.
She shifted her eyes from his chest which was peeking from his pastel blue kurta to his eyes which were looking at her with an unknown intensity.
Neither he backed out and nor she could from the staring contest they had unknowingly started.
They came out of the reverie when the song changed but his grip on her waist did not waver a for a single second.
"Shivansh!!"
His smirk could not be missed by her when she realised of what blunder she committed just now and her eyes widened.
She couldn't mask her emotions, her emotions were all haywire. Her rational mind refused to help her.
She forcefully pulled back from his grip, turned and took off on a fast pace.
He was not at all ready to end it midway just like all the times she had withdrawn and he let her.
But now he followed her to the terrace of the farmhouse which was empty and silent till he noticed a figure in blue standing near to the back railing.
The harsh wind tearing through her long hair resulting them in an untameable mess all over.
She sensed the unwanted presence but decided on not making any commotion till felt the need of.
But was she in a state of mind to distinguish between things? No. Why? She is not sure.
It was not very new thing to be unsure for her but not able to mask the traces of the unsurity she was feeling from a certain person was very new to her and it was neither good nor bad new, it was.... Weird. Maybe? He stood supporting his back on the railing on which her both hands were settled and angled his face in her direction but did not utter a single word and God! was she thankful? Yes very.
She could feel his gaze on her from the time she closed her eyes and that made her squirm on her own place.
Finally, she released a long sigh and her eyelids fluttered open ending the wait for him before his patience could wear out.
"What was that supposed to mean Mr.Raizada?"
And this was it, the last straw ticked.
"This is what you wanna ask me Anaya and what is it with the formals again!." His tone stern.
She was loosing the calm posture again "Then what should I call you, shivansh! Or maybe give you a damn nickname."
"I won't object." His smirk returning amused by how easily her calmness looses it's charm with a very futile try of his and this irked her.
"What do you want then?" She asked defeatedly.
To unravel the mystery you hold he said to himself.
"To know you."
How was the chapter?
What do you think shivansh is thinking or going at?
