This is how Janson looks in this one-shot.

A/N: I haven't read or seen the Maze Runner trilogy, so some things could be wrong. Thanks for understanding!

monster

"Janson stop", I managed to say. His hand lingered on my hip, his breath still hitting my neck.

"Why?", he breathed, "I can make you feel like no one has ever done before". My mind flashed to all the things he was imagining. At that moment, all I wanted was to be his. But I couldn't. I knew the monster he was. I knew what he was planning to do.

"No", I declared, and against my will, pushed away from him. His eyes were dark, searching for answers in mine. I ducked from his view, looking down.

A few moments passed, and neither of us said anything. I dared look up and found him still staring harshly at me. I met his eyes for a moment, wondering whether to kiss him or not. My options were reduced when he turned around, and without a single word, left me there alone.

It took me a while to leave the state of shock I was in. I was able to leave and go back to my office. Somehow, I logged into my computer and began to work mindlessly. Janson's touch was still whirling around my mind.

Fuck.

An hour later I gathered my things in order to go home. It was already quite late. As I walked down the deserted lobby I heard a child scream. Again. Again. A heart deafening scream. Pure pain.

My instincts kicked in and I started running towards the door where the screams were coming from. I tried opening it but the door wouldn't budge.

"Fuck". Slowly, I took out my gun and pointed it at the lock. I stepped back, aimed, closed my eyes, and shot the gun. It rang so loud. But I didn't care. There was a child hurting inside.

As I entered the room I saw a closed-off clear room with a living zombie. It was asleep. Then my eyes darted left to find three mangled bodies. And then to my right, there was a small boy, shrieking, strapped onto an operating table.

I ran towards him, pulling out a knife and cutting him loose from his bindings. Then, I tried removing the IV from his arm, but he kept shaking violently.

"Hey bud, I know you're in pain. Trust me, I do. I want to help you, but I can't if you keep moving. Can you stay still for a moment?"

His eyes registered my words and he nodded weakly. He suddenly stopped moving and I was able to quickly remove all the IVs connected to him. His body instantly relaxed and became frail, almost lifeless. I took him in my arms, ready to take him back to my lab.

But a voice stopped me. A voice that did insane things to me. Janson.

"What do you think you're doing?", he asked sternly. I turned around slowly. I knew the situation could only go two ways. We would end up fighting, or I could convince him of being a good person. The latter seemed less likely though.
