(Just a quick note. From now on I will write as in a "you" perspective because I find it easier to write it that way.)
---------------------
Step by step, you went up. As you walked through the stairs you saw several rooms. Each door seemed to glow on its own and had unique details that symbolized their gifts. You walked through the hall as you admired each special detail of the doors. Maribel was leading the way while you walked behind her at a slow pace. Camilo was right behind you making sure you didn't slow down even more.
"The glowing doors are interesting, but how are they..."
"Glowing? It's because of the magia del Encanto." Camilo responded with a smile on his face. Your eyes reflected curiosity and amazement.
You never had seen such... magic. Maribel stopped in front of a door. This one was different. It did glow, but not as much as the others, but this just made it more noticeable, it was different from the others, and that didn't mean a bad thing.
"Here it is, (Y/n). As I said earlier, this is going to be our room! So come on." Maribel told you as she opened the door. Inside the room, there was someone else
"Dolores! Nice to see you." Said Camilo in a low tone.
"Out Camilo, you can't be here," Dolores replied to him in a neutral tone.
"Why not?"
"Abuela told you to help in the Village."
"When??"
"Just now. So go."
"Alright. But wait let me just—" Dolores closed the door on Camilo before he could finish his sentence; he left and started walking to the village soon after that. You put your bag in the bed as you started opening it.
"We haven't met properly, well I have met you; you haven't met me though. I'm Dolores."
"Nice to meet you finally, Dolores."
"Alright! Casita, let's get (Y/n) a bed!" Maribel said out loud. Before you even had noticed, there was an extra bed on the other side of the room. You had no idea how it got there that fast, but you didn't question it either.
"That was fast, thank you Casita." Maribel seemed as excited as ever. Dolores seemed to be smiling too.
"I heard what happened (y/n) how are you feeling?" Dolores sat down on a bed looking at you with concern.
"Well after I ate an arepa, I'm better."
"Glad to hear you're doing better."
"RIGHT? My mamá's arepas are the best!"
"Well! Maribel and I will leave you to rest! Bye." Dolores grabbed Maribel's arm and led her out, closing the door.
"See you later!" You said as they walked out. You were thinking of resting, but you were full of energy, you didn't feel as tired as you thought. You fixed your stuff, put away your clothes, wrapped all the stolen watches you had in the blanket you were carrying, and hid it under the bed. 'They can't know about this, I'll try to get rid of them but for now, I'll just hide them. it would look bad if they found them.' You thought to yourself. You sat down in your bed and stared at the wall.
Exploring your own mind. Your brain was like your safe space. You thought of what made you happy the most, of what brought you joy, and what you were grateful for. Your dad had always told you 'Instead of thinking of what you miss, think of what you're grateful for, we still have many things that make us happy and we should appreciate them.' So you were very happy you had somewhere safe you could live, even if it was just for a little while.
It was weird for you to make new friendships in the place you lived. You had friends, but the only thing you had in common was the state you all lived in. Even so, those friendships didn't last long. Some left because of the same reason you did. You didn't live in the actual city, more of like the outside. In the low neighborhoods. It was relatively cozy but unsafe.
Your thoughts were scattered all across your mind until you snapped out of it, then you saw there was a window in your room and thought of the view, so you stood up and walked towards the window. As you admire the view, the clouds, the clear skies, and the people in the village. As you observed the skies you saw a toucan flying towards your window. The toucan stopped in front of you; he had a small piece of paper on his feet. He dropped it in front of you inside the house. You opened the paper and it was a note; so you read it.
"When you are not tired, you can come to the Village and I can show you around.
-Camilo"
You grabbed the satchel your father had given you and left the room. You went down the stairs on your way out.
"Going Somewhere, (y/n)?" You heard a voice behind you that sounded familiar. It was Dolores. But she was alone this time.
"Oh yeah, to the Village with-"
"Oh, I know. I heard him telling Antonio to send you the note."
"Oh, Antonio, your little brother right?"
"Yes! Also, we have a family dinner tonight, so don't miss it!"
"Oh, That seems nice, I will finally get to meet everyone."
"Yes. Now you should go, Camilo is waiting for you."
"Yeah, thank you."
You left Casita and went outside heading to the Village. Walking and walking where the entrance was, there you saw Camilo shapeshifting to entertain some kids. You stood for a while there hearing the little kid's laughs. You saw how much fun they were having.
A few seconds later you started walking towards Camilo. You saw all the little kids leaving shortly after, except for one. A few moments after, you had reached where Camilo was.
"Oh (Y/n)! Are you feeling better? Also, this is my brother Antonio."
"Yes, I am much better. Nice to meet you, Antonio."
"Nice to meet you too!"
"Ok, I helped. Now can I leave?"
"Yes, Antonio, Gracias," Camilo told his little brother.
"So what do you wanna see first?" Camilo asked you. Leading the way more inside the village. Antonio had already walked away.
