Serephina brushed back strands of her hair, eyeing herself in the mirror. Adelis had waxed her eyebrows last night and had applied some foreign potion that made your lashes grow. Serephina had complained telling her that she was going over the top. Like seriously—people would think she had gotten them done.

"You are the chosen one. Now, shut up," she had placed a face mask to help her pores and given her a massage(which to that Serephina did not complain) and had placed her to bed early as if she were a child.

"You are." Adelis had told her before turning the lights off and slipping away.

"Stop mopping," Nicolas ordered rereading over his Latin book. "We'll be fine." He could feel Serephina's uneasiness throughout the entire car ride, she could tell by the way he kept glancing at her from the corner of his eye.
"You will!" Serephina burst out setting down the small, pocket mirror. "I won't. It won't be the same for me. And, least of all, with our plan."

Nicolas shut the book. "What plan—ohhhh! That plan." He slowly dragged his eyes to her face. He took in her worried features: trembling lips, paled, ragged breaths. "Look butterphina, I can't promise you that this...plan of yours will be a complete success or that it will go unnoticed. But I can promise you that I'll support you. I'll be there. Because we're in this together we want to or not."

Serephina unwillingly reached for Nicolas' hand, gripping hard as she started to feel the car coming to a stop. "Promise me you won't forget me. I'm just as important as Juliet."

If so I'm more important, she thought but she wasn't about to tell him that. The words felt desperate–commanding and she felt as the blood-bond began to take action.

No. She didn't want to control him into this. Serephina wanted his true, honest response—his true promise.

"I won't forget you." Was all he said before he opened the door and the chaos began.

This chapter really always has some sort of...sadness to it. I think it shows how Serephina really wants to believe in Nicolas :(
