Chapter 25

Serephina was enjoying Nicolas' state, he keep shifting on his feet and his eyes kept staring at the floor. Adelis had found him first and whatever had happened sure had him on edge now, and judging by the way his cheeks were flushed he had suffered some sort of embarrassment.Adelis had only whispered to her to pretend to be shocked and to enjoy the show. She didn't know what Adelis was playing at, but whatever it was it seemed to humiliate Nicolas and that was something Serephina was okay with. Let him have a bit of it for once in his life.

"I can't believe this, Nicolas." She shook her head, frowning at him. "Damm, really?"

"Serephina, I can explain. I honestly thought she liked me. Yesterday when you said that I had come in between you two—I thought I...""Wait. Wait!" Serephina held up her hand, smirking. "You taught what?" She burst out laughing, walking up to him as she swiftly kissed his cheek knowing that he needed the strength he had lost. Nicolas' body (that had gone rigid the moment she laughed) relaxed as he reached out to pull her close. But Serephina caught sight of her before he could, pulling away.

Juliet threw her arms around Nicolas neck as she pressed her lips into his. Serephina had no other choice but to leave; she noticed how people had stopped their talking to gaze at the now awkward scene she was in.

She hurried through the crowd aware that a part of her had sinked when she noticed Nicolas hadn't called after her nor tried to follow her. She blamed her disappointment on her blood-bond. Serephina found Adelis flirting with one of the guys in the cheerleading squad. When he saw her coming up to them, he beamed, "Capi, you were amazing today."

"Well it wouldn't have been without you," she admitted, smiling.

Ryan slightly bowed his head, quickly reaching for his shirt to clean the sweat of his face. Serephina noticed how Adelis was watching him keenly, her eyes fixed on his dark abs. Serephina had come up to them with the mission of fixing stuff with Adelis, but she couldn't steal Adelis chance here. So she simply smiled at them, and then she promptly excuse herself.

Serephina knew that when they got back, she would have to talk to Adelis and clear things with Nicolas. She didn't know where he had come up with such assumptions, but she would lie if the thought didn't make her smile. Nicolas could be so naive sometimes. Not once, did he ever notice her feelings for him before the blood-bond, but he assumed that from a simple fight...

Maybe he never wanted to acknowledge them. Nicolas may not ever feel the same way.

Serephina shook her head, clearing her thoughts. She pushed through the crowd until she found her way to the oakwood at the back of the school, where she sat there and waited until her heart stopped aching.

Two chapters in one day, sorry for that. But the previous one was kinda short, and I was feeling inspired. I hope the end of this chapter, gets you as much as it does to me. I think it's the start of a lot of heartache to go for Serephina.

Hopefully not, but comment if you think otherwise. Don't forget to vote if you want to! Thanks guys! <3
