There Once lived a child that went by the name Powder. Her sky-blue hair was soft as silk, her heart-shaped lips tinted red, her cerulean eyes flickered in the dark. Everything about her was perfect, exquisite, unique.

She didn't look nor act like the other kids in Zaun.

While others would run around playing games like Cat & Mouse, she'd stay inside, following her older sister around like a dog on a leash. When others would be feasting on ice cream on a hot day, she'd be inside working on different types of technology.

Many of the kids called her 'weird' and 'different' but that's what made her so perfect. How she didn't have an interest in the rough play and would prefer reading chapter books that were far over her capability. Or how she would rarely talk to anyone unless it was her older sister, Vi, or her adoptive father, Vander.

Or how she ignored her older brother Mylo when he'd taunt her for her creations failing. All of those things made Powder, Powder.

And she was perfect just the way she was.

That was until Highschool.

⋆﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤⋆

Powder never acted like Powder again. She was different. Not the type of 'different' that would draw Ekko into her more, but the type that you'd see in every Zaun kid. The type where she'd spraypaint school property or prank all the teachers until suspension.

Taunt others for their smallest mistakes or even go as far as to injure them. That wasn't Powder. It wasn't the Powder Ekko knew at least. At school, she was known as 'Jinx' The rebel. Always doing something that would get her or her friends in trouble.

Being flirty with some random dude in the cafeteria, doing shit you wouldn't expect from little Powder.

But Powder wasn't little anymore, she wasn't little so she had to change.

Change her whole identity into someone Ekko didn't know.

But Ekko preferred Powder, he always has and always will. He preferred how silent and calm she was, how every mistake she made, she'd always turn to him. Or how she could spell and say such smart words. The top of her class, always getting A's and A+'s.

He preferred her being different.

But when he looked to Jinx, nothing was different about her. That same attitude she had, you'd find in another kid in Zaun.

So he just assumed that wasn't his Powder.

That he should have no interest in the person that replaced Powder.

The person was known as Jinx.

A/N: This is the prologue! Didn't want to make it too long, so 400+ words should be enough to tell what's going on in the story. Some chapters would be 1st person (Ekko's POV.) Some would be 3rd person.

If you're interested in the book, hopefully, you enjoy the rest! Enjoy.

Xoxo
