Chapter Fifteen: Decided
OFFICER VIN'S POV

"Are you sure?"

Flinn nods. I sigh.

"Like 100% sure?" I double check.

Flinn looks up from his newspaper and makes direct eye contact with me. "Vanessa. What are you thinking? Of course I'm sure. Are you?"

"It's just that..." I sigh. "It doesn't make sense."

"Nothing makes sense." Flinn reaches for the coffee he made a while ago.

"Flinn!" I exclaim. "Seriously. We're gonna rule this out as a suicide? An accident?"

"Vanessa. Watch your tone. And yes, we are," he said with a frown. "You seem to doubt me," he adds.

"I...I don't," I said. "I'm just asking if you're sure and all."

"Vanessa," he said. "You're so confusing."

"Me? I'm confusing?" I ask, clearly offended.

Flinn inhales heavily, like the atmosphere was too much to take. It was.

"I'm sorry," I apologize. "I'm just stressed."

"Excused," Flinn says with a smile.

"Okay. Do I inform the suspects now?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Yes, you may. Contact the headquarters as well, inform them about the case."

I nod. "Okay."

"Okay."

I turn around and reach for the door handle, until Flinn spoke and I stopped walking.

"Oh, and, say our team's condolences to the boyfriend. He's pretty traumatized," Flinn adds before I leave.

Right. The boyfriend.

"Okay, I will," I said before leaving.

Poor guy.

HOSEOK'S POV

"What's on your mind?"

I raise an eyebrow at Jin's direction.

"You've been sulking even more recently," he says. "Clear it."

"Ah, just worried," I said with a chuckle. "The suspense is killing me."

"Literally."

We laugh together. It's fun hanging out with Seokjin hyung, he's really funny. But I don't think now's the time to joke around.

"Ahem," a familiar female voice caught all of our attention. It was Officer Vin.

"Here it goes," Seokjin whispers to me before we all face the officer.

"Hello, g'afternoon," she says with a warm smile. "Are we all gathered here?"

"Ma'am!" Jimin raises his hand. "Taehyung and Yoongi aren't here."
