Ch-9 Extinguishing the Flame

3rd person POV

It was morning time in tempest and the adventurers were still sleeping. Suddenly, Shizu wakes up unexpectedly with a scared look. She was sweating bullets and looked around, her eyes landing on Eren, who was sleeping the the other bed next to her. She then felt an immense pain and fell face down on the bed sheets, gripping onto them tightly. The pain dived down after a while and she looked to see if Eren had woken up or not, and to her relief, she didn't. She fell back down on her bed and lied there for a while.

She then got up, changed and left the house, going up to the same cliff where she talked to Rimuru yesterday. She starts looking in at the developing village and smiles.

"Shizu-san ?" She hears someone say from behind. Shizu turns around and sees Rimuru standing there with Ranga on her side.

"Rimuru!" She exclaimed as the dragon god walked up to her.

"Rimuru-san, I'll be leaving soon." She tells her.

"Hm ? Why not stay ?" Rimuru curiously asks her.

"I'm sorry, but I can't. If I do, then I'll only bring you trouble." She sadly tells the other woman. "The goal of my journey.."

"Goal ?"

"Yes, my goal is to find the man who summoned me..." she tells her.

"What will you do after finding him ?" Rimuru asks her to which she stays silent. She just looks slightly towards the ground as the wind blows by you two.

"Well, alright then. It's too bad, but you can come back and visit anytime! You'll always be welcomed here! Isn't that right, Ranga ?" Rimuru told her.

"Yes, of course !" He affirmatively says.

"Thank you." Shibu says as she hugs Rimuru, the latter who hugs her back.

"Thank you too, Ranga." She bends down and hugs him. She ruffles his fur and pats his head, before looking at Rimuru and smiling at her.

Small timeskip

"Shizu-san, why don't you just come back with us to Blumund? It's sad to say goodbyes here." Eren asks her while combing her hair.

"I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun to travel with you guys." She tells her.

"Well, then-" She starts but Shizu simply shakes her head.

"Travelling together with you guys has shown me just how much fun it is to travel in a group. I'm truly great full that my last journey was made with all of you." She thanks her.

"Shizu-san, what do you mean by 'last'." She asks in confusion and a hint of concern.

"I've been around for decades you know. I'm not as young as I look." She smiles and puts her mask on.

"Oh, thank goodness, you were only joking. I got concerned there for a second." She lets out a ohh of relief.

They go outside to where to the other two were waiting for them, alongside Rigurd and Rigur.

"About damn time you guys showed up. Why do women take so long to change ?" Kaval grumpily says.

They were going to leave but they then noticed that Shizu had stopped moving and just stood there motionless. She started to stumble and lose balance, causing everyone to get worried at what's happening.

"Shizu-san ?" Eren says.

"N-no.... not this... a-again.." She stuttered before falling down on her knees and screaming at the top of her lungs. Her mask broke off and she was surrounded by flames that ascended up to the sky.

"Shizu-san! Shizu-san !!" Eren calls out in dismay.

"S-shizu ?" Kaval says.

Dark stormy clouds started to from and covered the sky in a see of black as a pillar of flames erupted. Shizu was in there, just looking at us blankly. Some wired fiery cape-like things formed around her.

"H-hey, isn't that.." Gido starts.

"The Conqueror of Flames." Kaval growls.

W-what !? The hero from the guild from 50 years ago ?! Shizu is her ?!" Eren yells in disbelief.

"How is she even here ? She should be retired."

They looked up to her, as the mask fell off. Her eyes were a bright orange and with an almost red sclera. Tears started flowing down her face but the tears evaporated quickly as she is completely engulfed in flames and transformed into a tall, muscular beast. This beast they were seeing right now, was the superior flame spirit, Ifrit. The spirit roars loudly, sending the Kaval party flying back as it alerted the rest of the people. Most of then were scared and cowered at the sight of the beast, it was a superior spirit after all. It then creates a three miniature fire dragons.

"Master, should I dispose of this insect ?" The white primordial asks her master.

"No, you can take a break and watch. That insignificant spirit decided to hurt Shizu and forcefully use her body, and for that, he will pay." Rimuru looked quite pissed off at the moment. She steps towards Ifrit and goes closer to him.

Ifrit then orders the Salamanders to attack her. They start firing massive fire balls at her, but she simply blows them away. After seeing this, the three salamanders rushed her in an attempt to gang up on her. But unfortunately for them, they all died before they knew what happened. Rimuru simply looked at them and they all exploded into ash. Ifrit was surprised by this and tried to summon more but it didn't work. He looked down at Rimuru, who had a murderous aura surrounding her. Rimuru lifts up some of her hair on her side as she looks at him menacingly.

"Listen here, stop using my friend without my permission, you mongrel !!" As soon as she says this, Ifrit is slammed onto the floor, hard. He tries getting up but every time he struggles, the pressure on top of him would only increase.

"Your no superior spirit, your too weak for that." You violently stomp on him, cracking the ground. She starts twisting and digging her heel into the spirits flesh as he screams out in agony.

"Rimuru-san !" The Kaval party calls out.

"What is it ?" Rimuru turns her head towards them for moments, leaving an opening. In an effort to escape it quickly blasted a fire ball near your face causing a giant explosion. Of course, it was completely ineffective against you but it bought it the time it needed to escape.....

...or did it ?

You quickly stretched you hand out, stopping it in its tracks and Ifrit was sent hurling towards you, as you cocked your palm to your side and slammed it against his chest, while the other hand kept his body in place. This palm strike forced Shizu out of his body and rolled a good distance away, as Ifrit's real body was being held by Rimuru. Shizu started coughing and panting at the impact and then passed out from exhaustion. Rimuru simply looks at Ifrit and roughly throws him onto the ground. She extends her hand out towards him without even bothering to look at him and says only one word.

"Beelzebub." After saying that, a black and purple cloud shoots out of her hand and engulfs him, before absorbing him and going back into Rimuru's body. She looks at Shizu's unconscious body lying there and goes towards her passed out friend.

"Rimuru-sama, she's to far gone. There's no way she could survive now without the help of a spirit." Testarossa walks up to her master.

"Don't worry Testa, leave it all to me. Just take her back to her bed and leave the rest to me. Trust in me, she won't die. I won't let her die." Rimuru reassured her before going to tend to the Kaval party.
