Just as always, my irresponsibility is always present. An alarm clock has been ringing for hours yet I keep falling asleep, not worrying about whether or not I'll lose my job.
Then it hit me, I got up as fast as I could and started dressing myself. I'm already 30 minutes late so brushing teeth and making my hair wasn't an option. If I weren't so good at doing my job, I would probably get fired due to my irresponsibility.
While driving towards my workplace, I thought how I made a big mistake last night. Why did I lose control and let those things happen. It wasn't like me, and it won't happen again.
I got so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realise that I was speeding and going through red lights. I suddenly heard a police car maneuver. I calmly parked my car on the side of the road and calculated how I can get out of the situation. The cop was approaching my vehicle and asked me to roll down my window. He asked for license and registration and told me I was speeding and going through red lights. I showed him my detective badge and lied how I was chasing a car and that I need to hurry up. I was looking at his reactions and it was pure disbelief.
"Why didn't you turn the rotation on?" asked a police officer.
"I couldn't reveal that I'm a detective so things can go down smoothly"
"Can I go now? He will get away!"
I could see how he was still in disbelief, however, my rank is higher so he didn't have a choice but to let me go.
