This one is for both readers and writers.

Readers be sure to comment because we writers can't read minds so tell us what you think.

By telling us, I mean give us constructive criticism. CONSTRUCTIVE!

That doesn't mean comment things like 'ew' or 'you're trash'

Tell them something helpful. Being nice about it doesn't hurt, for instance 'I love the idea but...'

Writers reply to comments. It shows that you're approachable and is a decent thing to do. If you just ignore your readers who can turn into your future fanbase, they may stop commenting being there's no point in it.
