No One's POVThe ringing of the alarm, blared throughout the ears of Akane. She groaned as she turned it off.
She opened one of her eyes, then she saw sunlight coming through a small crack of her closed curtains.
Confused, her eyes shot open realizing that the rays of the sun were once again shining bright. Akane opened her curtain just a tiny bit, seeing the outside, the sky a color of light blue, not one cloud could be seen within a mile.
It had been raining for days in the city, and although it was enchanting, suddenly having the sun come out was where people then took advantage of it.
Sunny day for Akane meant, sleeping in, and in doing so her older brother just had to ruin her plans.
Yuta: Akane! Get up, you still have school to get to.
Akane: It's only the second day, let me sleep.
Yuta: I don't think so. Come on, get up.
Yuta had yanked the blanket off of Akane, who only got mad in the process. But seeing the look on her brother's face, only made her think twice.
Akane eventually got up, and proceeded to take a warm shower, after her shower she wore an oversized gray hoodie with some navy blue skinny, ripped jeans. She dried her hair, and gave it a brush before passing the flat iron.
She went downstairs where her brother was making breakfast. The sweet smell of pancakes made its way into her nostrils.
Akane sat down and Yuta brought over a plate with fluffy Japanese pancakes, and a glass cup filled with orange juice. Akane thanked Yuta for the food then began to eat.
Swallowing the piece of pancake, Akane remembered the guy from yesterday. It was the first time her brother brought someone over, and Akane had a lot of curiosity.
Akane: Brother, who was that male you brought home yesterday.
Yuta: Hm? Oh, Sicheng? He's a friend of mine. We met in Korea, remember that project I was supposed to do for business class?
Akane: Yeah, you forced me to learn Korean during your time there.
Yuta: *laughs* Yeah, but it paid off. But yeah, Sicheng moved to Korea from China, and now he decided to move here to Japan. So I offered to let him stay with us.
Akane nodded, but then realized her older brother's words. The juice that was in her mouth was now everywhere on the table.
She coughed as Yuta quickly patted his sister's back, trying to calm her down.
Once Akane calmed down, she wiped the droplets of orange juice that were on her chin. Yuta on the other hand cleaned the table, and noticed the glare from his sister.
He only chuckled at his sister's reaction, before sitting down and taking her hand in his.
Yuta: I know it may seem a bit over your line of comfort, but give Sicheng a chance. He's a sweet person, and the person I like.
The angry expression on Akane's face suddenly turned into one of surprise, as Yuta said those words. Akane never thought her brother would fall for someone, especially since Akane's thoughts were being lessened by Yuta himself.
She didn't care if her brother was gay, bi or whatever he described himself as, but the thought that Yuta was going to give her less attention, and probably become an afterthought was something she didn't want.
