H O S P I T A L

Santiago : Do you know anything?
Emilio : No I'm still waiting. I don't want to call and interrupt.
Santiago : He better be fucking dead.
Emilio : They have it under control. I know they do.
Doctor : Mr De Leon.
Santiago : How is she?
Doctor : She's okay no need to worry. She's on oxygen right now but she'll be fine.
Santiago : Can I see her?
Doctor : Go right ahead. She's awake but won't be able to talk due to the oxygen mask.
Santiago : Got it...

R O O M

Santiago : Natalia...

Santiago
Once she heard my voice, she turned and looked at me. She couldn't speak but I saw joy in her eyes.

I walked over and sat on a chair right next to her bed. I held her hand as I talked to her.

Santiago : Are you okay?

Santiago
She simply nodded yes with her head.

Santiago : You're free Natalia. You're free of him and from this world. Consider him dead.

-knock-

Santiago : Come in!
Alessia : -walks in- Hey! How is she?
Santiago : She's doing okay. She's just on oxygen. What happened?
Alessia : Natalia, you're officially a widow.
Santiago : Give the details.
Alessia : Well, we threw a grenade at his car. Obviously it exploded with him inside. He didn't survive.
Santiago : You're one hundred percent sure.
Alessia : Yes we checked.
Santiago : Good
Alessia : When does she get discharged?
Santiago : In a few days I suppose.

-phone ring-

Gabriel : Oh it's Emily.
Alessia : Oh I want to talk to her!
Gabriel : I'm going first.

-phone call-

Gabriel : Amor! (Love)
Emily : I'm fucking worried over here! Tell me what's going on or I'm going to go crazy!!
Gabriel : Marco Montes is dead. We threw a grenade at his car with him inside.
Emily : Oh fuck yeah!
Alessia : My turn!

I snatched his phone away from him to talk to Emily. I need to know how my baby is doing.

Alessia : Hey Em! How's my baby?
Emily : She's perfectly Ale! I just changed her diaper and she's back to sleep.
Alessia : I'm sorry it's been awhile Em. The good thing is this war is finally over.
Emily : I'm so happy for Natalia. She's finally free!
Alessia : That depends on Santiago's choices.
Santiago : Huh?
Emily : Yeah that's true!
Gabriel : Give me back my phone.
Alessia : Fine, here!
Gabriel : Amor? How are you doing?
Emily : I'm okay don't worry! When do they come back?
Gabriel : I'm not sure.
Alessia : What is she asking?
Gabriel : When do you and Emilio go back to New York.
Alessia : Tomorrow morning I think.
Emily : Oh okay! Goodnight guys! Take care!
Gabriel : I love you Em. I'll see you soon.
Emily : I love you too mi vida. (my life) -ends call-

Alessia : Alright guys I'm gonna head to the hotel and pack to leave first thing tomorrow morning.
Gabriel : What about us?
Alessia : I'll have your jet come to you.
Santiago : Alright thanks!
Gabriel : I'm gonna head to the hotel too. Are you staying?
Santiago : Yes
Gabriel : Alright
Alessia : Goodnight everyone!

Santiago
I guess I'm staying the night here.
I want to be here in case Natalia needs something....

The Next Morning

When I woke up, I turned and saw Santiago sleeping on the couch next to me.

Wow he really stayed the night here?
Does that mean something...?

I took off the oxygen mask since I feel better now. I'm able to breathe on my own.

Natalia : Santiago...?
Santiago : Hm.....how do you feel?
Natalia : I'm okay
Santiago : You're able to breathe okay?
Natalia : Mhm
Santiago : I'm glad...
Natalia : Marco.....is dead?
Santiago : Yes
Natalia : Are you sure?
Santiago : Yes
Natalia : Wow....it's hard to believe.
Santiago : Believe it! You're a free woman now.
Natalia : When do I get discharged?
Santiago : In a few days.
Natalia : Oh okay...
Santiago : Are you hungry? I can bring you something from outside.
Natalia : Fresh fruit?
Santiago : If that's what you I'll bring it to you.
Natalia : Please?
Santiago : I'll be back then.

H O T E L

Emilio : Are you ready?
Alessia : Yeah let me just put on my jacket.

-phone ring-

Alessia : Who?
Emilio : Eduardo Navarro...

-phone call-

Emilio : Navarro?
Eduardo : Tell me why Marco Montes was found dead in my territory?
Emilio : He had his wife kidnapped. We went to her rescue. It was our chance to kill him so we did.
Eduardo : Who's left from his cartel?
Emilio : He had a lot of his main people and guards with him last night. I can assure you we eliminated them.
Eduardo : Is Natalia okay?
Emilio : She's in the hospital right now. She was having trouble breathing since she got trapped with smoke from the fire. She's fine though don't worry. We're heading back to Sinaloa today.
Eduardo : I see.....thank you for the information.
Emilio : No problem -ends call-

Alessia : He just wanted to know?
Emilio : Yeah since we're in Juarez. It's his territory.
Alessia : That's true
Emilio : Ready?
Alessia : Yeah let's go!

Natalia : Come in..
Eduardo : -walks in- Hey...
Natalia : Eduardo? How did you know I was here?
Eduardo : I talked to Emilio and he mentioned it. I came as soon as I could. How are you feeling?
Natalia : I feel okay.
Eduardo : I brought you some roses.
Natalia : Aww how sweet. Thank you!
Eduardo : You're finally free from him. What are you going to do? Do you have plans?
Natalia : I want to move to Puerto Vallarta and start working in what I love.
Eduardo : Natalia, why don't you stay here in Juarez? I can get you a position in the main city hospital. I'd love to have you here.
Natalia : Eduardo-
Eduardo : You know I love you. I would love nothing more than to make you my wife...
Santiago : -walks in- Am I interrupting?
Eduardo : ...
Natalia : You're back...
Santiago : Hers's your fruit.
Natalia : Thank you...
Eduardo : I'll be on my way out. Think about what I told you yeah?
Natalia : Mhm

He placed a kiss on my cheek before walking out. Santiago rolled his eyes. He looked annoyed...

Santiago : Engaged already?
Natalia : I didn't give him an answer.
Santiago : But you're thinking about it.
Natalia : Yes...
Santiago : Do you have feelings for him?
Natalia : No but he loves me. I know he's offering something sincere. He knows what he wants.

Santiago
I know what you're doing Natalia. Let me tell you, it's not going to work!

Santiago : I also know what I want.
Natalia : Do you? And what's that?
