Welcome to this unique story about heritage, magic and the danger of the unknown..
it's a dark and seemingly quiet evening in the woods of Rmilat, Tangiers Morocco.
an old and fragile lady studs through the forest, carrying a bag on her back. her face and arms covered in tribal Amazighian tattoo's. her name is Lalla Baya, also referred to by the towns people as the crazy witch or gezja (a term for elderly woman).
Lalla Baya is mumbling her way through the trees when she hears loud laughter. she passes a small group of foreigners consisting of 3 American boys, who came to the woods to drink alcohol, most likely because it's not socially accepted in Morocco to consume alcohol let alone in public.. Lalla Baya shakes her head and mumbles with a disapproving tone. The boys are obviously drunk and they're laughing hard with each other, when one of them hears a beautiful woman voice singing in the distance. "yo you guys hear that? sounds like an angel" one of them says. "pff it's probably just a hallucination we drank way too much" the other responds. "nahh man I hear it too, maybe it's those hot girls from the town! let's go look!" "you guys go I feel wayyy to sick to walk, I'm gonna try to sober up a bit first" the Two of them excitingly wander off deeper into the forest following the voice.
Lalla Baya walks past the guy still mumbling. this catches the guy's attention. he sits up straight and looks confused at Lalla Baya. He asks her " hey old lady what are u doing here all alone at night? it's not safe for you" lalla baya looks at him and frowns. She mumbles " I'm as safe as I can be, it's you guys who shouldn't be out here. They don't like strangers" the guy laughs it off and asked her who's they? But before he could let out another word, he noticed she's already gone.
the drunk guy shakes it off as just a weird crazy lady and decides to go look for his friends. he walks and walks and walks yelling their names. but no response. he finally stumbles upon a cave under an old tree "they must've gone in there" he tells himself.
Lalla baya struds away from the forest on her way back home when she hears the guy's scream. She shakes her head and says to herself " I told them, I warned them. But they never listen to crazy baya. Tsk tsk"

the beautiful city of Tangiers, filled with history and culture. "would you stop taking pictures of the same building ? we have to get to the apartment!" Nada said putting her hand infront of Nyx' camera. Nyx rolls her eyes " yeah yeah one more, I want to capture every single moment now that we're finally here! I mean don't you? this is after all your heritage!" Nada raises her shoulders and answers "I just found out that my birthparents are from here, but I still feel like an American. I still AM an American Nyxi that didn't change."
"okay Uncle Sam. you know you can be both right? I'm as much American as you are but I am also a proud Mexican girl"
"yeah but it's different for you. you've always grew up with the culture, you've always known who you are. I always knew I was adopted but when I saw the results of that dna test, it was like I was living a lie as if don't belong with my parents in Chicago.i don't know who I am"
Nyx puts her hand on Nada's shoulder and gives her a loving comforting look. "you're my best friend, you're a Chicago girl. you're the girl that stuffed jimmy's face with dirt when he said my hair looked like a bush. you're the one person who never judges someone and always has someones back. you're Nada and we're gonna enjoy this trip! we came here so that you can get to know your heritage, fuck your birthparents this isn't about them this is about you! and we're not gonna waste this trip by mopping around. now let's get to our new apartment!!" the girls share a smile and excitingly walk down the streets.
"omg this apartment complex is gorgeous!!" Nyx says while squeezing in Nada's arm. "wauw it feels so fancy with all this marble everywhere" Nada says. "it's quite normal here for buildings to be build of actual quality material instead of some wood and papermache" a male voice says with a joking tone.
the girls turn around to see in the doorway of one of the apartments, a tall guy with dark brown wavy hair that falls to his ears. with light green eyes and a cheeky smile.
"excuse you? and who are you exactly?" Nyx responds with an attitude. the guy laughs and steps forward. "I'm sorry how rude of me. I'm Hamza your new neighbor I suppose. and what lovely names do you two have?" his eyes focused on Nada. "I'm Nada and this is my best friend Nyxi" Nada respons with a nervous smile. "that's Nyx for you, only she can call me Nyxi." she quickly added. "welcome to Tangiers Nada and Nyx. and I didn't intend to be rude it was just my way of breaking the ice. I mean no offense" hamza looks at Nyx with his hand on his chest signaling his sincerity.
"oh it's fine I mean after all it is somewhat true, we don't really have houses made out of stone in the US" Nada says trying to lighten the mood. hamza smiles at Nada "well ladies if you need a tour guide or a translator you'll know where to find me" he winks at them and goes back into his apartment and closes the door.
"okay what the hell was that?" Nyx looks at Nada with her eyebrow raised. Nada looks back at her confused "15 minutes ago you were almost shouting USA USA USA on the streets but then you see one cute guy and you're all like 'oh my gawd you're right America sucksss haha'" Nyx mocks Nada with a drooling look. "whaat?? I was being nice that's all."Nada tries defending herself. "pff nice my ass, let's hurry up and unpack I need a nice warm shower" Nyx takes their baggage and walks into their apartment.
