Nolan

I wake up to my arm slung over the side of a red couch and my long skinny legs hanging off the end. Drool was pooling around where my head was lying.

"Nolan." At first I thought the voice was Evelyn, but it was my boss, Patrick. I rubbed my slobbery mouth and sat properly on the couch. Patrick was facing away from me, making some coffee. All 50 workers in my building uses the coffee and food in the Web Room. We have an endless supply of drinks and food packets, so I have never been in here.

Patrick turns around with two cups of black coffee, "You were sleeping on the job Mr. Heineken." He slides up a chair and sits backwards, guzzling his coffee. Patrick isn't really his name, it's just what we call him. After every nerds favorite kids' show: Patrick the pink starfish. Just like big people are named tiny; he is as black as Patrick is pink. I chuckle and take a sip of my own coffee.

"Well I don't think I am the only one sir. It is a 24/7 job. You know I work hard."

"But this time is different," he loses his sarcastic tone. I set down my coffee cup, balancing it on my knee.

"Evelyn Hart, a.k.a Head Scout has lost connection. She isn't on the monitors and last seen through the transmission wasn't heading on her direct path." Patrick knows how I feel about her.. and I see the pity. I just sit there.. this can't... No, this can't happen.

"Nolan.." He sighs, "it's worse. From seeing the transmissions on the screen, around her vicinity, three of the other seven Scouts lost contact with us. Two are dead. And the MA's side flank got hit by our opposing ranks. A third of Westpoont Army Side is injured or dead. Because our Head Scout." Patrick crosses his arms, showing war wounds circled around his radius.

"We are authorizing a search for Hart, she is the spy we had in our premises and caused destruction in the WAS."

"I don't think she is sir. Maybe-"

"We knew we had a leak. And this couldn't all be a coincidence Heineken. I tried contacting her through your intercom and she disconnected." Patrick stood and put the chair back underneath the table.

I stood up and poured out my mug, "Even though I still think she is innocent, why did you tell me all of this? It isn't because of how I feel about her," I thought back to her green eyes and straight black hair, it couldn't have been her, "and you would have made an announcement to all the technicians in the facility; you wouldn't just tell me."

He went to the window and shut the blinds.

"No one knows. Uh- well, that we had a person who made it happen. Some are guessing it's just the satellite that messed up the coordinates and ultimately made this whole thing happen.

"The thing is no one can know. Only you. We are going to use you."

I was confused... It showed.

"You are going to get on the inside. You are now a double agent. To eradicate her and the people with her."

"But.. What exactly am I doing? How do I... a double agent... How am I going to imprison the person I-"

"Kill. Your going to kill her and the people she is working for."
