It had been about a month since Dabi and Maddie had become friends and they were hitting it off really well. Before it was difficult to stay around each other, but now they could coexist without issue. Both even began to consider the other to be their friend. A friend. Maddie had another friend already in Tavia. Neither had heard anything from her since she had yelled at Dabi to go look for Maddie. Dabi was content with just Maddie and not having to deal with Tavia, but Maddie was beginning to worry about her. Recently, Dabi had been helping Maddie decorate her new room and at the moment it was rather small, but more her. She still had her mattress, a dresser, and a TV for her gaming system. At the time she was playing one of them when Dabi walked in.

"Hey, Kid. What do you want for dinner?" Dabi asked her, leaning against her door.

"We're not having spicy ramen again?" Maddie smiled up at him.

Dabi smirked at her small tease. "No, I don't want to make you suffer all week. Besides, I'm having issues with my stomach now."

"Well, what are you in the mood for?" Maddie asked after thinking and coming up with nothing.

"Maybe a salad or something healthy?" Dabi raised an eyebrow. "I'll have to go to the store, but I'll be quick."

"I can come with you--" Maddie tried to say as she sat up, but was interrupted.

There was a knock at the front door. There was NEVER a knock at the front door. Dabi wasn't one to ever have company over and Maddie made sure to still follow his rule of not bringing people over. Did someone find out they lived there? Was it the police? A Pro Hero perhaps? The idea made Maddie's heart skip a beat. She was beginning to really enjoy living with Dabi. Was that all about to come to an end before it barely even began?

"I--" Maddie tried to say.

"Stay here and hide in your closet." Dabi told her urgently and headed downstairs.

Maddie quickly maneuvered into her closet. It was a tight squeeze, but she managed to get inside. Her small bit of claustrophobia was already getting the better of her. The walls around her seemed as if they would crush her and make her bleed out all over tthe. She sat there with worry for what would happen to Dabi. What if he got hurt? She'd just have to rush out and heal him. He could've been killed. Dabi being killed? It was unheard of, but Maddie started to develop a strong fear of something happening to him. Dabi reached for the doorknob and cautiously opened it. He expected a man with a badge waiting to either question or arrest him. It was so much worse than that. It was Tavia.

"You." Dabi growled.

"Dabi?! Thank Jesus! This is the right address! My memories been terrible! You have no idea how many houses I've tried!" Tavia tried to let herself in, but Dabi quickly got in the way.

"What do you want?" Dabi asked with a want to make her leave.

"First question, is Maddie still alive? Like did you save her? Or did you be a dick?" Tavia raised an eyebrow, putting her hands on her hips.

"She's fine." Dabi glared with protectiveness. "What do you want with Maddie?"

"Uh, she's my FRIEND?" Tavia crossed her arms with a huff.

"Really, because you just implied that you didn't even know she was alive and that you didn't know if I'd save her, and that you did absolutely nothing when she needed her FRIEND." Dabi smirked at her. "I'M her friend now."

"Dabi, people can have more than one friend. Don't make it creepy." Tavia thought for a moment and let out a grin. "Unless there's something else going on."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Dabi shot her a look.

"Oh, nothing. I'll just ask Maddie a few things and I'll be sure." Tavia tried to enter again, but Dabi got in the way.
