SAANVI SINGH HAD A KILLER VOICE.

Her mother used to call Saanvi a siren like the eerily alluring (and somewhat deadly) women of ancient myths. To her, Saanvi's voice was, above anything else, beautiful. The scientific terms used to define her abilities were high decibel sonic screams and sound manipulation. Born with abilities beyond those of normal humans, Saanvi's father — from whom she'd inherited said abilities — thought it was best to send her to the same School for Gifted Youngsters that he always sung praises about. But, for Saanvi, gifted turned out to just be a pretty euphemism for cursed. Where Saanvi's father was taught to control and embrace his powers, Saanvi was often told to keep quiet due to the extent of hers. Unlike her father, Saanvi could control people with her voice, causing them to enter a hypnotic state. Apparently, that made her mutation more powerful, more uncontrollable, more dangerous — it made Saanvi more dangerous. She'd spent the better part of seventeen years being told that she was a danger to herself, but, more importantly, a danger to others. To be fair, Saanvi didn't disagree with that.
